Estimate:

Estimated Length of Project:
180 (Substantial Completion) + 30 (Final Completion)
This project proposes to provide a new 8-in water service from the Madison County side of the Kentucky River to restore water service to the Fort Boonesborough State Park. New water service will be tapped from an existing Madison County Utilities 8-in water main. The point of connection will occur in the northern right of way of Fort Boonesborough Road (KY 627) approximately 866 ft south of the Combes Ferry Road intersection with Fort Boonesborough Road. From this location, a new 8-in water main will be constructed and routed along the northern right of way of Fort Boonesborough Rd for approximately 4,701 LF where it will cross Fort Boonesborough Rd at the entrance to Fort Boonesborough. Jack and boring will be utilized to cross the road to avoid open cutting the roadway. The line will then transition from a public water line owned by Madison County Utilities to a private water line at a new vault that will be installed at the property line near the Fort Boonesborough entrance. From the vault, an 8-in water main will connect back into the existing park 8-in water main that will back feed the rest of the park property. The old connection from Winchester Utilities will be cut and capped on both sides of the KY river and abandoned.
