The Fire Alarm System will be removed and upgraded at both Meece Hall located on the Somerset Campus and the Russell Center located in Russell springs, Ky. An intelligent, addressable fire alarm system shall be provided. The system will comply with all manufactures’ requirements and shall report compatible alarm signals to the remote central system via an externally mounted dialer. The fire alarm system will monitor any and all sprinkler system flow switches, tamper switches, and duct mounted smoke detectors as well as heat detectors and smoke detectors. A remote annunciator panel will not be required as the lockable Fire Alarm Panel will be located at the entrance door to each building.

The Work includes: Removal of existing single-ply roof – ballasted. Approximately 3,200 S.F. and Removal of existing single-ply roof – unballasted. Approximately 2,150 S.F. and Removal of existing asphalt shingle roof – . Approximately 12,200 S.F.
The Work also includes Repair/removal/replacement of existing roof substrate, as required. Substrate for all shingle roof and unballasted single-ply roof is plywood or wood boards (depending on location). Substrate for ballasted single-ply roof is rigid insulation over metal deck. Also, installation of new modified bitumen roofing system in areas where single-ply roof is removed; Installation of new glass-fiber-reinforced asphalt shingle roofing system in areas where asphalt shingle roof is removed. This project includes removal of existing light fixtures, and installation of new exterior and interior lighting in the public spaces of the Kentucky Center. The lighting components will be controlled via a lighting control system. Project scope includes installation, power and control wiring, new light shelves and shield, and integration of existing lighting components.
This contract consists of approximately 18,000 feet of eight inch (8″) gravity sewer, 10,000 feet of four (4″) force main, 4,000 Feet of three inch (3″) force main, 3,500 feet of two inch (2″) force main, one hundred twelve (112) manholes, six (6) lift stations, and appurtenances.
This package involves Mechanical, Interior Finishes and speciality rooms work for the new CAER laboratory #2, a 43 thousand SF research laboratory. The work will be performed under contract with the construction manager, Turner Construction and Finch Constructors.
The University of Kentucky’s Shively Track, used by the men’s and women’s track and cross county teams, is over 30 years and needs to be renovated and updated. This project will renovate the existing track and field facility by providing new track and field surface, field event training areas, spectator seating, spectator amenities (concessions, restrooms, etc.) and equipment storage. The existing facility will be completely demolished and the new sports venue will be constructed to provide a first class venue for track and field events, creating a quality experience for both athletes and spectators and will be easy to access and maintain. The new track will be a nine-lane synthetic surface track, competitive events and grass infield. An athlete only area practice throw area will be developed creating a safety for adjacent spectators and warmup of student athletes. Additionaly, a student athlete area has been developed to accommodate visiting teams. The new design and materials integrate with the adjacent baseball stadium and create a synergy for dual use. A new entry plaza is being developed to create an identity for the facility and serves to upgrade the entry into the baseball stadium. Permanent seating is provided for 3,000 spectators divided between the lower level grandstands and the upper grandstands. There are building to be construction as part of the project: Field Storage, Throw Storage, Concessions/Restroom and Meet Administration. Typical building materials include concrete foundation and walls, load bearing CMU, brick and standing seam metal roof.
This project is an expansion and remodel of a current kitchen, turning it into a catering kitchen. Some existing space/equipment will be used, some reconfiguring, new equipment as specified.
