Commonwealth Stadium Renovation/Expansion, located at 1540 University Drive in Lexington KY, consists of multiple bid packages and 4 phases of construction. The Commonwealth Stadium Renovation/Expansion project will consist of renovation and alterations to improve the overall functionality, security, and aesthetics thereby satisfying the needs of the University of improving the spectator experience. These alterations will consist of but not be limited to construction a new team store, press facilities, full-service kitchen, additional suites, concessions, restrooms, video boards, security upgrades, and a new recruiting room.

The scope of work covers items that are to be addressed to allow the renovation to occur. They include, but are not limited to, the following items :Demolition: There is minimal demolition in order to make new connections and tie into the existing sanitary sewer line, plumbing venting, and hot and cold water supply. Renovation: Provide and install a metal stud and gypsum board chase wall along the plan west wall to provide a chase for new plumbing supply, venting and waste lines. Provide and install new laboratory/science casework along the plan east and plan west walls to provide preparatory work surfaces and storage for science equipment, materials, and material storage bins. Plumbing work to provide integral sinks in casework along plan west wall, connecting to the existing supply, venting and waste lines within the existing building. Provide and install new science casework islands for students to receive instruction and perform experiments, with power and storage components for microscopes. Some reworking of existing wiring for connection to the new student work islands provided in recessed flooring troughs. Some reworking of floor finishes to accommodate the new work islands and casework. Some painting of disturbed wall surface and new wall surfaces provided as part of the plumbing chase along the plan west wall. Some patching and painting of the existing walls where existing furnishings are removed/relocated. Provide and install new student lockers in an adjacent corridor. Work to be performed with students and faculty occupying the building during the construction period.
This project will provide a left turn lane into the Brock property along KY 80. All of the widening will occur on the Brock property side of KY 80 in the existing right of way. This avoids impacts to the residents on the opposite side of KY 80. Grading and drainage modifications are also part of this work and fill material will be obtained from the Brock property. This project also includes relocation of an existing concrete sidewalk. There are minimal impacts to an existing ephemeral stream which are being permitted via a Nationwide permit from the Army Corps of Engineers. Utilities will be relocated by owner. Contractor shall coordinate turn lane work with owner and utility companies.

The VAV Replacement project scope for the Central Labs includes the demolition of existing VAV HW reheat units, controls and piping components associated with the VAV units. These units will be replaced with new Air Terminal Units with hot water coils, new engineered piping packages and new Automated Logic controllers and sensors networked into the existing control system.
The Central Lab is an operating facility and therefore the work must be performed on night shifts and in close coordination with the facility staff. Certain areas are secure areas and may require escort while working.

The existing building is served by two electrical services. One service, which powers the HVAC system and the elevator, is a 240V/three-phase system. The other service, which powers receptacles and lights, is a 120/240V/single-phase system. This project will replace both existing services with one 120/208V/three-phase service and will convert the distribution system as required.
The existing, three-phase, main distribution board will remain and be re-used, but some branch circuit breakers will be replaced. The existing, single-phase distribution board and the existing single-phase panelboards will be replaced with new, three-phase equipment. Buck-boost transformers will be provided to boost the voltage for the existing elevator and chiller. New three-phase panel feeders will replace single-phase feeders. Two existing panelboards will be replaced with new interiors installed in existing recessed tubs and one existing panelboard will be replaced and relocated.
All required power outages must be scheduled with the building users, must occur outside of typical office hours, and must be completed in the time scheduled.

The work consists of renovation of the entire former University Lofts Building, In Lexington KY, for the University of Kentucky School of Arts and Visual Studies. The historical building has two wings; the East Wing has three stories plus a basement and was built in 1899. The West Wing has two stories, no basement, and was built in 1916. The total building area to be renovated is approximately 112,115 gross square feet. The work includes architectural, structural, site, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection, and communication renovations. When complete, the renovation will preserve the existing “loft” appearance, with exposed brick, open ceilings, and exposed systems in most of the building. Specific tasks include: selective demo, reconstruction of existing boiler room, including construction of a new stair tower, new underground piping connections for steam, condensed return, chiller water and chilled water systems between the Lofts Bldg, Central Heating Plant #2, and Cooling Plant #2. Interior and exterior structural repairs, construction of new interior partitions, installation of new finishes, and building systems. This project will NOT participate in the LEED program and is exempt from the KY High Performance Building Standards.
Work of this Contract comprises general construction of a new 1 story office building and vehicle maintenance facility and related site work for the Owner.
