Bluegrass Station

The project involves re-roof work on center bay of a located at Bluegrass Station in
Lexington, KY. The two side bays have been reroofed recently. The existing
approximately 63,000 square foot roof to be removed is an ballasted EPDM single ply
system on metal deck. There is reason to be believe that a significant amount of the
metal deck shall need to be replaced. The new roof system is TPO single ply system
that is adhered attached over a 1 1/2″ rigid board insulation. The ballast will be
disposed of on site.

This Work includes the removal and replacement of existing translucent fiberglass sandwich panel system in existing rough opening. The existing exterior cementitious stucco on the front elevation will be removed down to existing C.M.U. substrate and replaced with prefinished metal wall panels over galvanized hat channel furring, over 1 ½” rigid insulation, over fluid applied water-proofing. Existing brick and cut stone masonry will be pressure cleaned and re-pointed as necessary to condition agreed to be satisfactory by Contractor’s mock-up at Pre-Installation conference. Specifically, brick masonry will be re-pointed every sixth course where brick masonry ties have rusted and dislodged mortar joints outward from face of brick. Re-pointing Work will include installing new weep vents in existing brick masonry at upper and lower portions of exterior wall to provide adequate ventilation of existing brick veneer. Existing brick masonry chimney will be demolished to a point 24″ above existing shingle roof plane. Bricks from demolished chimney are to be salvaged and re-used in replacing spalled or damaged brick masonry units in existing exterior walls to be re-pointed. The Work also includes installing new aluminum z-channel trims around existing louvers to conceal rough sealant joints.

This project is for the construction of two new 17,958 SF each 12-unit Pre-Engineered Steel Framed T Hangars with a Box Hangar at the eas end of each building. The project is located at 4476 and 4480 Gumbert Drive, Westside General Aviation Development Area off Runway 9-27 at the Bluegrass Airport, Lexington, KY. The work for this bid package includes, but not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, product installation, and coordination for completion of site and existing infrastructure demolition, mass grading, erosion control BMPs, structural fill import, excavation, trench rock removal, storm drain infrastructure, sub base placement, concrete apron construction, asphalt paving, pavement under drain systems, high security fence and gate installation, utilities service extensions for both wet and dry utilities, installation of exterior fire protection systems, electrical, lighting, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, communications, security upgrades, landscaping, final grading, revegetation, clean up, pollution control equipment, misc specialties, coordination with specialty security vendors, and project closeout.
This project scope includes the construction of a new kitchen and cafeteria addition with support spaces using load bearing CMU walls, steel joists, light weight insulating concrete with a modified bitumen system roofing system. Geothermal well fields and a new transformer will be installed as well. Renovation of existing spaces includes converting the existing cafeteria and kitchen areas into classroom spaces and support spaces as well as new lighting and ceilings throughout the school.
The project area includes the installation of landscaping improvements (top soil and plan materials) within the four triangle segments of the I-65 Exit 112 interchange with Ky 245. The project also includes the removal of guardrail and drainage modifications along the southbound exit ramp; and the replacement of asphalt paving with decorative concrete within portions of the median islands along KY 245 and the intersections with interstate access ramps.

The Project also includes cleanout and closed circuit television inspection of 8″-12″ sewer main pipe. Demolition and removal of a reinforced concrete grit separator structure will be included as an additive alternate bid item.
