The project involves the development of approximately 150 acres for recreational use, including baseball, softball, soccer, and football fields and their associated utilities, building and roadways. Work in general consists of the addition of two two fixture restrooms includding selective demolition. Installation of interior partitions, selected mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finishes.
Construct a 19 million gallon, earthen, equalization basin as part of a wet weather treatment facility. The project scope requires clearing and grubbing, excavation and hauling of excess material along with the relocation of potable water lines and sludge force mains. This project is partially funded by a grant from the U.S. EPA and therefore subject to federal guidelines as contained in this document. There will be a mandatory pre bid meeting held at the DRG WQTC Administration Building at 11601 Lower River Road, Louisville, KY 40272 on Monday April 18, 2011 at 1:30pm. For the pre bid meeting/site visit, you must wear hard hat, safety vest and safety shoes.
The project is located near Ferndale High School and consists of CIPP lining of 8″ (10,316 LF), 10″ (2,829 LF), and 12″ (1,283 LFT) pipes. Additional items include Manhole Epoxy Coating (130 VF), Manhole castings (1 EA), Chimney seals (7 EA) and other related miscellaneous items.

The Work includes removing existing single pane glazing from steel curtain wall system and replacing with insulated glazing units. Existing steel curtain wall frames are to be scraped, cleaned and painted (interior and exterior) as glazing units are replaced. Please note that existing glazing putty in the clerestory windows in the Drill Hall have been found to contain asbestos and will need to abated as part of this Work. Additionally, window sills have been found to contain lead dust. These areas containing lead dust are to be permanently abated through encapsulation as part of the Work. Copies of Hazardous Material surveys are available from the Owner. The Work also includes removing exterior metal spandrel panels and replacing them with prefinished metal composite panels backed with 3/4″ polystyrene insulation board. Interior and exterior touch up painting will be required at areas adjacent to the glazing work. The work includes but is not limited to; the renovation of all restrooms include demolition of existing fixtures, toilet partitions, accessories, ceiling systems, select partitions, electrical components and revisions to the HVAC to accommodate the new work. The new work includes new fixtures, floors, walls and accessories, suspended acoustical ceiling system, wall partitions, floor and wall porcelain tile, lighting and electrical and mechanical work. The general demolition includes select existing walls, wall panel systems, associated doors and frames and the installation lf new metal stud and drywall partitions with associated wood doors and frames, including painting or stain as required. Existing walls shall be painted to the extent noted in the finish schedule. The Mechanical portion consists of the removal of 1 of 2 existing boilers and the installation of a new boiler and all associated piping, combustion air intake and exhaust flues and a new gas line to the building. New airflow devices, controls devices and demo work as shown on the drawings. Electrical work includes the replacement of a relay bases lighting control system, and revisions to lighting, power , communications and fire alarm systems.
