RFB-23-14
Estimate: $162,960.00
The sites are on the same road (Prestons Branch Road), across the street from each other. These sites consist of a combined total of five (5) open portals. AML plans to close the portals with wildlife closures. Access roads will need to be upgraded/constructed to provide access to the portals; however, any trees removed will be less than 5” in diameter or cleared between October 15th and March 31st. Silt-check fencing and prompt establishment of vegetation within all disturbed areas will provide sediment control. As the area to be revegetated is less than 1.0 acre, residential seeding will be used.
There is a slide, as well as drainage issues, behind the residence. Two portals exist on the property; one has been backfilled and the other (closed by a previous project with cinderblock) was reopened by the landowner for fear of a blowout. AML plans to replace the existing cinderblock closure with an 18” wildlife closure and backfill it with class II rock. Approximately 80 linear feet of a 3-ft. flat bottom rectangular gabion ditch will be constructed from this portal to the existing road culvert. Sixty-four linear feet of an 8-ft. tall concrete gravity wall (with safety fence) shall be constructed behind the residence. Approximately 110 linear feet of subdrain will be installed in front of the wall (behind the residence) and daylight into the rectangular gabion ditch. A waste area is on site. No trees will be disturbed except for trees in the area considered unstable by the slide. Silt-check fencing and prompt establishment of vegetation within all disturbed areas will provide sediment control. As the area to be revegetated is less than 1.0 acre, residential seeding will be used. For continued project description see Special Conditions.
