PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The scope of work consists of the installation of approximately 5,300 LF of 1 1/4”, 3,700 LF of 1 1/2″, 1,100 LF
of 2”, 3,000 LF of 3” and 4,100 LF of 4″ HDPE DR 11 force main sewer lines in Stephens Branch. The scope
of work also consists of the installation of approximately 10,050 LF of 1 1/4”, 6,650 LF of 1 1/2”, 2,600 LF of 3”,
5,500 LF of 4” and 4,000 LF of 6” HDPE DR 11 force main sewer lines in Lower Abbott Creek. The project
will include the installation of 141 Residential Grinder Stations. The Contractor shall furnish all materials,
equipment and labor necessary to complete the installation of force main sewer lines and appurtenances. Time
of completion for the PCUC Stephens Branch and Lower Abbott Creek Sewer Extension Project is 365 calendar
days. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,000 per calendar day.

Description and location of Project: This unit based construction order is for the drainage improvements and bank stabilization along the open channel to the rear of 4407 South Ridge Drive, in Metro Council District 25.




All work shall be done in accordance to MSD’s Standard Specifications.




There will be no pre-bid meeting held for this project.




The Engineer’s Construction Cost Estimate for this project is between $50,000.00 to $90,000.00.

This renovation project is for the Lake Cumberland State Park Resort located at 5465 State Park Road, Jamestown, Kentucky 42629. The project consists of exterior repairs and exterior painting on the Convention Center building and the Pool House building. All previously painted exterior surfaces are to be cleaned, prepped, primed as required, and repainted per the drawings and specifications. The exterior surfaces include, but are not limited to the walls, doors, trim, siding, louvres, vents, ceilings, soffits, railings, and columns. Exterior repairs include, but are not limited to siding repair / replacement, roof repairs / replacement on a portion of the roof that is adjacent to the Pool House (roof of building C), railing prep / clean, exterior ceilings and soffit repairs and painting, repairs to the exposed “tails” of the roof trusses on the Convention Center, and flashing repair / replacement. The project also includes the cleaning / prep of the concrete floors for the balconies and breezeways of buildings B, C, D, and E, and the application of an elastomeric coating to these areas as described in the drawings and specifications. Structural Repairs to the pedestrian bridges of the Convention Center are in a separate contract.
75 working days are provided from start of construction to substantial completion. 15 working days are provided from substantial completion to final completion. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating areas of construction and the “shut down” of those areas per the project schedule as described in the Bid Documents. In addition, the contractor will be responsible for coordinating all project work with the separate contract work and contractor selected for the “Lake Cumberland Convention Center Structural Repairs” project that will be simultaneously underway as this project. The contractor will be required to communicate and work closely with the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park Manager for project logistics, including shut downs, construction sequencing, and general construction activities.

The project consists of renovation of multiple rooms in two buildings on the South Campus of Somerset Community College to accommodate new industrial curriculum.
In Building 1 an existing shop space will be used to house the injection molding equipment and the IMT (mechanical training) equipment. The space will remain largely unchanged except for new floor finish. The existing slab will receive an epoxy painted surface. Additional utility drops will be added at locations for new equipment.
In Building 2 six existing classroom spaces will be converted into three separate lab. The first will function largely as a classroom but will also include a storage space with partron counter to simulate the check in / check out process of small tools and equipment found in the industrial environment. The next lab will consist of combining two existing classrooms to house hydraulic and pneumatic training equipment. The final lab will consist of combining three existing classrooms to house robotics training systems and PLC work stations.
Mechanical and electrical systems will be altered as required to accommodate the new program in the existing space.

The single story building serves as the main Administration area along with an Auditorium, large computer lab and science classrooms. This project consists of an HVAC renovation for Classroom areas and Administration wing excluding the auditorium area. The auditorium will be renovated in a separate current project that includes many Architectural and MEP upgrades.

Existing System
The existing HVAC system for Meece Hall consists of a central plant with gas fired boilers and an air cooled chiller that provides chilled/hot water through a 2 pipe system. The building has floor mounted unit ventilators throughout with outside air ventilation provided through the louvers in the unit ventilators. The existing system will be demolished for a portion of the building.

Proposed System
The administration area and classroom wing will be served through a new VRF system using the 3 pipe technology. Each area is divided according to the phased construction.
The new HVAC system will provide an upgrade to ventilation requirements per ASHRAE 62.1. There will be one Dedicated Outdoor Air unit that will serve Outdoor air to each space per ASHRAE 62.1.
The HVAC controls will be through the VRF manufacturer’s multi-zone controller. The equipment controls will be required to have capability with Bacnet for future tie in to a FMS system. The future FMS will be required to have all CEMCS requirements.
