The Work consists of the following for the Pedestrian and Vehicular Access
Improvements: This project will remove the through drive, parking lots, overhead
utilities and create a central campus space. These spaces will consist of walkways,
lawn and planting areas, central gathering spaces and future sculptural elements.
The project will maintain the existing main entry from Loop Drive. The road will now
branch off into the two adjacent parking lots and circulation will flow through the
parking lots to access drives around the perimeter of the campus. The existing parking
lot will be revised to provide parking (both accessible and visitor parking) as well as a
drop off area, The site has many overhead utilities that will be buried. Many utility
poles will be removed. There will be other minor utility work to relocate fire hydrants,
post indicating valves and fiber lines. The existing lights for the project area will be
removed and new lighting standards have been established. The Owner will purchase
the lights and poles, however under this project the conduits and light pole bases will
be installed.
The intent of this project and specifications is for the elevator to replace the Reynolds Building #1 Elevator and upgrade and modernize the elevator to a fully operational and code compliant elevator system to replace existing open car freight elevator in Reynolds Building #1. This upgrade will include machine room, hoistway and pit.

The city intends to issue a contract for work to replace approximately 526-feet of sanitary sewer line by installing a sanitary sewer with piers and bracing, reconnecting seven lateral connections, and installing two new manholes. All lines are to be tested in accordance with standard Frankfort Sewer Department testing requirements. Contractor shall be required to maintain flow during all aspects of the construction. The contract and/or purchase order shall be issued to the lowest and best-rvaluated bidder responding to this invitation to bid. The contract shall be provided and performed in accordance with the stated specifications in artical IV -Proposal specifications, and Artical V – Technical specifications, of this invitation. The city’s purchasing agent shall notify the successful bidder. The new Fischer Tropsch Process Building will be a free standing construction located at research Park Drive in Lexington, KY. This facility requires approximately 4860sf of Factory (F-1) area and 920sf of offices(B). The building will be built as unseperated mixed use with a structural system primarily metal building construction. The proposed building is a single story metal building structure. The exterior veneer will feature metal panels with metal stud back-up. Interior finishes will include painted CMU walls along the process development unit/office division. The remaining walls will be metal studs. Exposed concrete floor will be throughout wit vinyl base along with exposed structure in the warehouse area with acoustical ceilings in the remaining areas of the building.

Typical floor finish to be vinyl composition tile, typical wall finish to be painted gypsum board, typical ceiling to be suspended acoustical tiles. Included in this project is the removal of asbestos-containing friable pipe insulation, sealing compounds, cleanup of asbestos-containing debris and the demolition and disposal of three hot water boilers, flues and pipes. Full enclosure of the boilers and the maintaining of negative air atmosphere in the work area are includedin the requirements. Project also includes the encapsulation of pipe surfaces to remain from which asbestos-containing materials aer removed. The project is to be carried out on an established schedule and be coordinated with other contracts to install new boilers or equipment. The schedule fpr abating various areas is very restrictive and these areas must be completed within the scheduled time frame. Bidders must be able to demonstrate they have available manpower and capabilities to adhere to this schedule before a contract will be awarded by the owner. Work also includes all labor, material, craftsmanship, equipment, etc.
