This project consists of installing a 200 KW, 208/120 volt, three phase, four wire, emergency standby diesel generator with base fuel tank and a 1,200 amp, four pole, automatic transfer switch (ATS) for the Louisville District Five Office located at 8310 Westport Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40242. Both the generator and the 1,200 amp ATS will be provided by the Commonwealth of Kentucky through a Master Agreement with Whayne Power Systems. The contractor will furnish and install a concrete pad for the generator and a second concrete pad for the 1,200 amp ATS. The generator and ATS will be delivered FOB to the District Office. The contract includes unloading and installing the generator and the ATS. The generator will serve all building loads when utility power is lost. The existing utility service from a padmounted transformer will be rearranged to include the ATS. A short duration outage will be used to cut over to the new service arrangement. Coordination with Louisville Gas & Electric, Whayne Power Systems, and District Five Office personnel is required. Work will be preformed outside the District Office building and in the main mechanical/electrical room. Eighty calendar days will be allowed for the construction. Generator and ATS have been ordered. Experience in the construction of underground electrical systems is required

The 100 amp ATS will be purchased by the contractor with a fixed bid allowance. The contractor will furnish and install one concrete pad for the generator and both ATS’s. Haley Pike Landfill Compost Pond Discharge Improvements
This project will consist of the purchase and installation of a floating diesel pump which will pump a modified sump within the pond at the compost pad. A new level gage for the determining actual pond depth will be installed at th epond overflow/discharge tube. A flexible line will need to be installed on the pump discharge to tie into the existing 6″ PVC discharge line exiting the pond. The discharge line out of the valve vault will take two underground routes. One will run north along the western edge of the compost pad. It will be 6″ schedule 80 PVC pipe which will run about 1100 feet. It will have a fire hydrant installed in it within 15 feet of the valve vault. Th eother discharge will run east along the southern edge of the compost pad. This line will be 4″ schedule 80 PVC pipe which will run about 400 feet. This line will have a “stub up” every 80-90′ of line. The 4″ schedule 802 PVC stub up will come above ground to a valve and a quick connect fitting with cap on the dischargd side of the valve. There will be a total of 4 stub up connections.
