Bonnie Melton (AML) Reclamation Project, 30th Annual Construction Grant
RFB-120-12
The Bonnie Melton (AML) Reclamation project is located near Hyden in Leslie County. A landslide and a road break have developed from mining activities in the #4 coal seam. The site is located on State Rt 1807 approximately 6.5 miles from the junction of State Rt 80 in Hyden, Kentucky.
The project originated from several citizens complaints concerning a break in the pavement on state Rt 1807 just above Bonnie Melton’s property. Also, Ms. Melton is concerned about a land slide in her yard, about 20 feet below the road that is a result from water coming from an underground mine in the area.
For continued project description see Special Conditions.
