The work consists of replacing roofing on the roofs of the Science Classroom Building
located on the Southwest Campus of Jefferson Community & Technical College in
Louisville, Ky.
The Science Classroom building roof system is approximately 19,500 sf and is
comprised of a coal tar pitch and 4-ply membrane with ballast over 5 1/2″ of fiberglass
insulation on top of metal decking. Structure and deck slopes to drain at 1/8″ foot to
achieve drainage. This system shall be removed down to the roof deck and replaced
with a new roofing system comprised of 2-ply modified SBS roof membrane over two
layers of 1 1/2″ thick polyisocyanrate insulation and 3/4″ perlite cover board. Flashing

RFB-22-13 Clinton Roberts Group AML Reclamation Project
RFB-22-13
AML elected to regrade the slide area to achieve design slopes and construct gabion walls to restrain the regrade material above it. Also, close the mine portals and construct appropriate drainage and sediment control. To minimize erosion from the site, straw bales will be utilized.
All areas disturbed as result of any construction activities shall be revegetated in accordance with regional, regulatory and project standard, using agricultural limestone, fertilizer, seed (General seed mix), mulch and netting. For continued description, see Special Conditions.
RFB-23-13
Most of the removed rock from the gabion walls will be used to backfill behind the proposed concrete gravity wall. Any excavated onsite material will be placed in the waste area across from the road on the property of Jerry and Sheila Little.
Site preparation for the areas includes clearing of vegetation, removing any existing drain pipes, gabion baskets and disposal of any trash and domestic debris within the project limits. To minimize erosion from the site, straw bales, silt fence and rock checks will be used. All areas disturbed as a result of any construction activities shall be revegetated in accordance with regional, regulatory and project standards. For continued description, see Special Conditions.
