Louisville Water Company is requesting Bids for the installation of 1,860 linear feet of eight (8)-inch DPW water main, 1,125 linear feet of twelve (12)-inch DPW water main, 590 linear feet of six (6)-inch DPW water main, and 315 linear feet of four (4)-inch PVC water main along S. 38th Street between Broadway and River Park Dr., along N. 44th Street between W. Main Street and Jewell Avenue, and along St. Xavier Street between 2808 St. Xavier Street and N. 30th Street. Also included with the project is the installation of five (5) fire hydrants, the relocation/renewal/transfer of 158 customer services, seven (7) service discontinues, and seven (7) meter exchanges.

(AML) Reclamation Project

Site 1 – Back Branch: The site is located off Back Branch Road A slide has developed on a hill next to Back Branch road and a stream that is a tributary of Back Branch. The slide is affecting the tributary of Back Branch and will need to be removed. There is a bench above the slide that is the result of contour mining. The slide area will be stripped to rock and the material will be placed on the bench above the slide as well as two areas below the slide. A subdrain shall be placed in the bench waste area against the highwall.
Site 2 – Ishmael Higgins: The site is located off Hwy 378 A slide has developed on a previous OSM slide mitigation project. The slide will be corrected by constructing a gabion wall at the bottom of the slide and backfilling the wall with class II rock. Excess slide material will be excavated and taken to the waste area on the Back Branch site. Ditches, subdrains and pipes will be installed to direct drainage away from the slide.
Site Preparation includes clearing and grubbing of vegetation. The construction areas ate the Back Branch site shall be revegetated using agricultural limestone, fertilizer, seed, and mulch. The construction area at the Higgins site shall be revegetated using residential seeding. Hay bales, silt fences and rock silt checks shall be installed for silt and erosion control.A hoe ram bid item is included for excavation work needed for the ditches, subdrains and retaining walls. A landscape allowance is included to replace “in kind” landscape disturbed as needed as part of normal construction efforts. A utility relocation/structural removal bid item is included to move any utlities that will be required. For continued project description see Special Conditions.

The project consists of one community/administration building and four (4) residential “Neighborhood” buildings with connecting structures for a new 120 bed nursing home facility. The construction type is V-A. The occupancy group is I-2. The community building is approximately 23,000 SF, the connectors 14,000 SF and each neighborhood building 29,000 SF for an approximate total of 153,000 gross square feet. The structures are wood frame on concrete foundations with slab-on-grade floors and engineered wood truss roof structures. A complete Description of Work is in the Notice.

Re-work existing branch circuit feeds from the emergency lighting inverter system and selected receptacle circuits into the new emergency panels.

Providing mold remediation in the Kentucky School for the Blind Howser Hall Building located on Haldeman Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. Attendant to the remediation work shall be all building demolition and replacement as required for the building to be occupied as indicated on the contract documents. Removal of various types of ceilings and walls to access areas of mold or moisture damage and replacement after mold remediation has been accomplished. Furnishing and installing protective roof coatings as described in the contract manual for a ten year warranty on the existing metal roofs, which have been identified as a source of moisture. Removal of all piping insulation showing evidence of mold contamination and replacement with new pipe insulation as specified herein. A quantity allowance for the pipe insulation to be removed and replaced with new is to be included in the base proposal. Modifications to the existing HVAC system as depicted on the drawings. All attendant electrical work is required. A complete and thorough duct cleaning and coating of the existing internally lined duct system as required in the project manual. A complete and thorough cleaning of the entire facility and wipe down shall be done.

This project, Cartmell Residence Hall Infrastructure Upgrades (Cartmell Residence Hall Mechanical Renovation as shown on the plans), will include the complete electrical bus duct replacement with conduit and conductors inside the chase of the 17 story building. The work also includes the removal and replacement of the main vertical hydronic piping and domestic water piping located in the same chase as the bus duct of the building for all 17 floors. There is limited finish work within rooms where horizontal runs of bus duct or piping occur. Fire stopping of the floor penetrations is also required.
This work will occur during the scheduled MSU summer break and the building will be unoccupied for the duration of the project other than as noted in the specifications. All work must be completed during this time period and the building placed back in service in time for occupancy by MSU on July 15 and students on August 1, 2013.

The work includes the construction of a 2,000 sf office building at 822 Elizaville Road, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041. The building is slab on grade with wood framed walls, vinyl clad double hung windows, R-19 batt insulation, shop fabricated wood trusses, asphalt shingle roofing, and fiber cement siding. Typical floor finish vinyl composition tile, wall finish painted gypsum board, ceiling suspended acoustical tiles. Ceiling height 8′ bearing wall 10′. The HVAC system is an electric heat pump. The building will accommodate and occupancy of 21 and house the following rooms and functions: a large workroom with kitchenette, four private offices, a small conference room, men’s and women’s restrooms, mechanical room, custodial room, communications room and reception room. The work also includes a small concrete parking area (1 space, accessible).

The project is the re-roof of the Lure Lodge at the park. The roof is combination of a sloped gable roof with low-sloped extensions. The work consists of complete tear-off of the existing roofing and replacement with an asphalt shingle roof on the sloped gable portions and an SBS Modified Bitumen 2-Ply roof system on the low-sloped extensions. Some siding and fascia boards will require removal and replacement. The work also involves associated sheet metal and trim components.
Replacement of existing burined steam and condensate piping. In addition, high pressure return piping and drain tiles will be installed. New piping will be connected to existing piping and extending into buildings per plans.

Champion Court I Student Housing is a new dorm located on University of Kentucky’s campus between Blazer Hall and Memorial Coliseum. The new dorm will be approximately 285,000 sf that is 8 levels. It will be a concrete framed structure. Site improvements include new site utilities and plaza areas.
