Contract GCWA-KY52-3 – This contract consists of the relocation of existing water distribution facilities along the new alignment of KY 52 from KY 954 in Garrard County to neat KY 595 in Madison County, KY. The work includes relocation of approximately 20,000 LF of lines ranging from 2” to 8” and the associated appurtenances such as meters, fittings, valves, etc.

This project renovates 3,800 square feet of existing space on the Second Floor of the North End of the Gray Building to create a Business Synergy Center. The Center will provide a series of interrelated spaces where participants learn business and collaboration skills that are known to be essential to successful business ventures.
This setting will project a professional business atmosphere that is key in this training experience. Interior finishes will reflect this approach.
The Center will be visible from the corridor through a glass curtainwall system. The central reception area will be open with glass partitions that offer visibility into all other areas and convenient access. The Center will consist of a tiered classroom for 24 students. This room will have fixed tiered seating with electrified tables for laptop computers, WiFi, and projection capabilities. An Ideation Room has a capacity 12 individuals with 3 walls covered with “white board” for discovery of ideas, outlining strategies, and organizational problem solving. A third space will be “the Board Room” which will provide professional setting for board room presentations and corporate role-playing.
Finishes will include mahogany panelling, glass partition, granite countertops. Floors will be carpet tiles. Ceiling will be 2×2 lay-in acoustical panels. Lighting will include a variety stage sets for the activities described above. HVAC will utilize new units to conform to the new layout.

This project, Renovate Mignon Residence Hall, will include a general renovation and upgrades to the facility. The upgrades will include the following: replacement of floor coverings, renovations of all bathrooms, kitchen, and lobby areas, elevator upgrades, masonry repairs, I.T. upgrades, window replacement, ADA accessibility, mechanical upgrades, and exterior drainage improvements.
The scope of work will include the redevelopment of a new entry focus and associated site work. Site work design is structured to create an enhanced approach and entry to the facility from the west façade of the building. The site work creates an outdoor patio area with new entry stairs leading to the building. A new ADA ramp is provided to allow for the facility to better serve the occupants that have mobility disabilities.
Also as part of the project, the overall exterior appearance of the building will be updated to match the other adjacent building in the complex with a new brick façade. The existing precast panels will be removed and replaced with a brick façade.
The renovation consists of replacing the plumbing fixtures in the residence rooms and installing new water heaters. New maintenance and drain valves are also to be installed. The steam-to-hot water heat exchanger will be replaced along with adding new HVAC units for the main lobby level and heat in the corridors. Rooftop units will provide exhaust and outside air for the facility. An alternate will replace the cooling tower.
