Improvements include connection of force mains from the Harrods Creek Pump Station and the Meadow Stream Pump Station to the Preliminary Treatment Building through magnetic flow meters and a new junction chamber, a new grit removal tank, a new coagulant feed mixing chamber, a new 102 foot diameter secondary clarifier with RAS and scum pumping station, a new effluent Parshall flume metering structure, a new UV disinfection channel, a new cascade aerator and outfall to Hite Creek, a new plant drain and recycle pump station, a new chemical storage and feed building, related site work, electrical, piping and mechanical improvements. The Project is located at the Hite Creek Regional Water Quality treatment Center in northeast Jefferson County.

This project consists of the removal of existing 8″ sanitary sewers and structures, and the furnishing and installing of approximately 4800′ of new 1211 gravity sewers, manholes, and all other items shown on the plans and mentioned in the specifications for a complete project.
This center will house an Emergency Operations Center, Enhanced-911, Disaster and Emergency Management, and LFUCG’s LexCall. This is an existing structure with a footprint of 100’x370’. It is a concrete structure, floor slab, concrete beams & columns and precast double tee roof structure with precast exterior panels. The interior space has been demolished as part of phase 1. New construction will consist of new walls with some CMU & some metal studs and insulation. Some modifications will need to be completed to reinforce the existing structure, new shear walls, moment connections, etc. All new plumbing, HVAC, electrical and roofing will be installed.
Construction includes but is not limited to demolition, grading, site utilities, concrete paving, site lighting, a decorative fountain , brick masonry, steel railings, pedestrian lighting, sod, seed and landscape planting.
