The Division of Abandoned Mine Lands wishes to receive bids to perform reclamation work on approximately 48 acres of mine land in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Consisting of the construction and/or furnishing of items for the Boiler Replacement – Water Softener as follows: This project involves the removal of existing hot water boiler and installing an Owner furnished new hot water boiler. Furnish and install a new water softener. Furnish and install insulation on the existing hot water storage tanks. The installation of Owner furnished (3) each boiler blend pumps one on the new boiler and two on the existing boilers. Furnish and install a new plate and frame domestic hot water heat exchanger and pumps. The installation of a new floor drain for the new water softener and new soft water feed to the existing hot water heater storage tanks/header. Electrical work will be to disconnect and reconnect the new hot water boiler and (5) new feeder circuits for the new pumps. Also included is expanding the existing DOC control system at the LFUCG Detention Center, Lexington-Fayette County, Kentucky.

The Work of this Project consists of the following: Construction of a new 22,800 SF Dairy Housing Research and Teaching Facility. The facility consists of two clay floor animal holding pack areas separated by concrete slab cow feed bunk lanes and a middle concrete slab feeding drive lane. The structure is to be a pre-engineered metal building with prefinished metal roof panels and prefinished metal panel gable end wall. The site is greenfield, requiring minor grading. The site contains adequate borrow material.
