The Division of Abandoned Mine Lands wishes to receive bids to perform reclamation work on approximately 10 acres of mine land in Whitley County, Kentucky. The work will consist of earthwork, gradework, and revegetation of 1 bond forfeiture permit. For continued project description see Special Conditions.
This project will address two landslides that are affecting multiple residents and a county road in Johnson County. The project will construct pile & lagging walls to stop the movement of the slides along a county road and a residence. The material below the walls will be regraded to a stable configuration. Drainage controls will be improved and installed to collect and transport water away from the reclaimed areas. Onsite waste areas are designated. They are areas that have already been filled by residential development. Trees will be cut only in one unstable slide area; no trees will be cut outside the unstable areas. Estimated Length of Project: 90 (Substantial Completion) + 30 (Final Completion) Rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer lines located adjacent to Freedom Hall on the Kentucky Exposition Center site.
