The project includes construction of a new, 2-story, 33,938 gross square feet, LEED Certified classroom building situated on the northwest portion of the existing Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College’s Middlesboro campus in Middlesboro, Kentucky. The building program includes areas for Nursing, Aviation Technology, Assembly Area (with catering kitchen), Internet Café, general and computer classrooms, faculty and staff offices and support spaces. The foundation/structural system is comprised of auger-cast piles with concrete grade beams and structural concrete floor slabs with precast concrete roof planks supported by reinforced concrete block masonry walls. Exterior walls are to be covered with insulation and brick veneer. Existing mechanical & electrical infrastructure components will be extended to this building from existing utility services. The HVAC system includes air cooled chillers and gas-fired boilers with fan coil and VAV air handling units. Electrical service includes 277/480V three-phase power for equipment and 277V power for lighting and 120V for receptacles. Fire alarm system, telecommunications systems and rough-ins for Owner provided AV and security systems/components are included. Finished site work includes a new drop-off drive, campus walks and plantings.

The renovation project for the DEP Labs to be performed at the Centralized Laboratory, 100 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky is a renovation and reconfiguration of three lab spaces and the construction of one new space in an open office area. The scope shall include reconfiguration of existing cabinetry, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work. Three of the four labs are within existing lab spaces. The fourth lab space shall be constructed in an area that is part of an existing open office. This area will include construction of new perimeter walls, new acoustical ceiling, and new flooring. New plumbing, mechanical and electrical shall also be provided as part of this fourth space. Interior finishes for all four spaces shall be upgraded to match adjacent spaces.

This project consists of the construction of a new parking lot for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s fleet vehicles. The proposed development and land disturbance activity is located on state property in Franklin County, Kentucky off Sower Boulevard near the existing Centralized Laboratory Facility. Approximately 2.75 acres is proposed to be disturbed during construction operations. The latitude and longitude are 38.18842° and -84.846607° respectively. The natural soil on-site consists of clay and silt with minor amounts of sand and gravel.
