PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project is generally described as the Northern Kentucky University, Health Innovation Center
(HIC) Founders Hall Renovation. The project is located in Highland Heights, Kentucky, on
approximately 3.0 acre site on the NKU campus, east of Kenton Drive, west of Nunn Hall and directly
north of Griffin Hall. The project will include the construction of the new Health Innovation Center
(HIC) building and renovation of the existing Founders Hall Building. The HIC building will consist of a
new 107,000 sf five-story steel frame building. The Founders Hall renovation is a 106,000 sf
complete interior gut and renovation of the existing 5 story concrete-structured building.

The site is located in Clay County, Kentucky. It is just beyond the northern right of way of US 421 in the Shephardstown community at coordinates N 37* 17’ 12”, W 83* 51’ 58.86”. The project will consist of “lump sum” site prep and “lump sum” demolition and disposal of an old “wooden structure” tipple facility, plus a small block scale house and another frame structure. The location of this project is 5 Highway 455, Sparta, Kentucky 41086.This project is for the construction of a package duplex grinder pump station, control panel, and 380 linear feet of 2 inch PVC force main. This proposed system connects the existing State Highway Maintenance Facility to an existing gravity sewer manhole by means of a bore under KY Highway 35.

The Tina Smith Portals AML Reclamation Project includes the closure of six underground mine openings. Five of the openings will receive “bat-friendly” wildlife accessibleclosures, and one will receive a non-wildlife accessible closure. Accessing the portals forclosure will require the installation and removal of four temporary low-water stream crossings.Total project disturbance will be no greater than 0.75 acre. Revegetation will be via the standard AML General Reclamation Seed Mixture.

The Project includes but is not limited to the following: 2016 Safe Routes to Schools Sidewalks Project
a.) 900 SY 48- Concrete Sidewalk
b.) 200 LF 18″ Corrugated Metal Drainage Pipe
c.) 2 EA Drop box inlet with frame and Lid
d.) 200 LF 6~ Concrete Curb
e.) 1 LS Painting and Striping
Selective demolition including but not limited to: roofing, trim, wood structure, ceilings, doors, plumbing, hvac, electrical, etc. for existing Hart County Rest Area building. Reconstruction including but not limited to: wood trusses, framing , roofing and plywood enclosures. Work also includes encapsulation of existing smoke damaged wood framing.
This project will replace the existing heating boilers located at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Paducah, Kentucky. The work consists of the following: removal of existing boilers, pumps, piping, and electrical; installation of new boilers; installation of pumps; fabrication/installation of new piping; system flush and water treatment; insulation; installation of electrical power; and integration with existing temperature controls system. The trades involved include, but are not limited to: demolition; mechanical; water treatment; insulation; temperature controls; and electrical. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract.
