The project consists of approximately 800 feet of 24” PVC SDR 35 Gravity Sewer, 520
feet of 8” PVC SDR 35 Gravity Sewer, 6 Manholes and appurtenances.
Estimate: $151,470.00 Estimated Length of Project: (Substantial Completion) + 120 Calendar Days (Final Completion
This project group will address one slide, drainage problems, and three portals. The group has three separate locations in central Floyd County. Alan Wright Site LB# 11736 This site is located at N37.5630743º, W82.7655057º on Denwood Road on the northwest side of KY 80 at Martin. We will address a slide and drainage problems at this site by constructing a non-reinforced block wall set on a concrete footer and install a subdrain behind the north side of the residence and then behind the retaining wall structure. The landowner has an existing ditch off the houseseat elevation down to the county road culvert. We will replace the existing county road CMP culvert with a 24” HDPE culvert since the iron laden mine water has damaged the existing culvert and construct concrete headwalls on the inlet and outlet of the new culvert. The contractor will notify the local community of the temporary closure as part of their traffic control efforts. Water from the culvert flows along an existing natural drain we will not disturb. The slide at the site is along the north side of the parking area for the residence. There are a few trees at the top of the slide with exposed roots due to the slide and they may have to be removed for safety reasons, otherwise the site will require minimal site preparation. Mr. Wright’s septic system is at the northeast edge of the deck and the leech bed field is under the parking area. A bid item is included to replace this system. We cannot avoid the septic leech field. There is a water meter and utility pole within the work area along the county road. Please see spec book for full project description.
