The renovation of the auditorium in Meece Hall consists of interior partition and ceiling demolition. The existing floor needs patching in a couple of areas after the partitions are removed. The walls are to receive light gauge furring and insulation and gypsum board. The ceiling is being replaced with new acoustic ceiling tile (ACT) and gypsum board soffits. The adjacent mail room is being moved by the owner and will become an Audio/Visual closet and storage for the auditorium. In the auditorium the aluminum windows will be replaced with new fixed storefront with insulated glazing.The existing HVAC system consists of floor mounted unit ventilators that are served by the existing 2 pipe hydronic system. The outside air ventilation is currently provided through the wall louvers in the unit ventilators. The auditorium space will be renovated into a diversified space with a different type of occupied schedule than the rest of the building. The space will benefit from having a dedicated HVAC system that can work independently than the rest of the building. It is proposed to provide a VAV packaged rooftop unit (Gas/Dx) with CO2 control for ventilation. The unit will be designed for low sound applications. Unit will be able to provide heating and cooling on a separate schedule than any other space. The HVAC controls will be Bacnet based protocol utilizing the latest KCTCS requirements in their standard specifications. A new JACE panel shall be provided to initiate the new controls for the HVAC renovation project.The existing electrical service will be modified by removing four fused circuit breakers and replacing them with a new distribution panel with a main breaker. A new circuit breaker will re-feed the existing wireway serving the majority of building panelboards. This new panel will have provisions for providing feeders to new panels and large HVAC equipment in current and future phases of building renovations.

The new Records Holding Facility (RHF) on the Boone National Guard Center (BNGC) is intended to
archive and store records for the National Guard and handle mail operations for the BNGC.
The facility includes administrative areas, a mail operations area, and storage areas. The building site is located near the BNGC rear access control gate, and positioned north of the existing parking lot for the Band Building (Armory 4). The new RHF will share existing parking with the Band Building and be situated south of the secured perimeter fencing for BNGC. The parking area, site, and security fencing will require modifications to accommodate the new building, dedicated visitor parking, and vehicular access for the mail operations functions.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION: The administrative areas and mail operations area are constructed of light wood framing with masonry veneer and pre-engineered trusses. The storage area is constructed of metal insulated panels over a steel frame with pre-engineered wood trusses. The foundations are shallow spread footings bearing on flowable fill concrete to bedrock. The first floor is constructed of concrete slab on grade.

FINISHES: The storage areas of the new RHF are intended to house and store paper records (file cabinets, shelving, boxes, etc, and is comprised of low maintenance finishes with minimal “aesthetic”
requirements. (i.e. painted gypboard ceiling with pre-finished metal insulated panel and sealed concrete slab-on-grade. The administrative area flooring finishes will include carpet tile, LVT flooring, porcelain tile flooring in the restrooms, and sealed concrete in the utility/mechanical spaces. Wall and ceiling finishes in the administrative areas and mail operations areas will be painted gypboard.

HVAC: The building will be air conditioned by three air to air heat pumps with vertical indoor units with air ducted to spaces and three ductless units with one outdoor unit on a variable refrigerant system. A separate ductless split heat pump will cool the IT Room. Fresh air will be ducted from one end gable. Toilets will be exhausted through the opposite gable.

PLUMBING: Plumbing includes 3 water closets, 3 lavatories, one mop basin, one kitchen sink and one electric water cooler. Water heaters will be electric. Exterior domestic water and sanitary sewers will be piped Frankfort Plant Board mains on the North side of US Highway 60.

ELECTRICAL: The new electrical service will be brought to the building to the electrical room through pad-mount transformer. Two main panelboards will power all building electrical loads. All interior and exterior lighting will be LED type controlled via occupancy sensors. Power receptacles will be provided throughout the building as shown on drawings. The communication service entrance underground conduits will be brought to the communications closet from existing underground handhole. Communications cabling will be wired throughout the offices and other building areas as shown on drawings and terminated at patch panel. The building will be provided with a full fire alarm system.

CIVIL WORK: will include minimal site demolition, site grading, erosion control, storm water drainage, concrete driveway and sidewalks, perimeter fencing modifications and lawn restoration.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration (DECA) and the Department of Parks (Parks) is planning to replace the emergency spillway and raise the inlet of the principal spillway for the General Butler State Park Dam.

The concrete emergency spillway was constructed in 1939 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and is in an advanced state of structural distress. The principal spillway for the dam was replaced in 2014 and the new inlet elevation has lowered the previous normal pool elevation of the lake by approximately 1.5 feet. The inlet raise will return the pool elevation of the lake to previous levels. A new impact basin will replace the existing headwall for the principal spillway outlet for erosion control.

The proposed emergency spillway replacement will consist of demolition of the existing 10 foot by 3 foot reinforced concrete box culvert, concrete drop structure, three (3) 48-inch CMP’s and concrete headwall. The new emergency spillway will be a reinforced concrete structure consisting of a 12 foot by 4 foot box culvert through the embankment, discharging to a chute spillway and stilling basin on the downstream side of the embankment. The overall length of the new emergency spillway structure is 133 feet. The stilling basin will discharge to a riprap channel.

In conjunction with demolition of the emergency spillway, the CCC inscription on the culvert headwall on the upstream side of the dam shall be removed intact by saw cutting and the resultant slab preserved for display. The Contractor shall submit a plan prior to demolition, approved by the Design Team and General Butler personnel, for preservation of the concrete slab. The plan shall also include design of a pedestal to support the slab.

The principal spillway structure inlet will be raised approximately 1.4 feet by addition of a precast or cast-in-place concrete collar to the existing structure. Raising the inlet will also require raising the existing catwalk and either replacing or extending the slide gate controls, the Contractor shall submit a plan for approval to accomplish this work. The existing principal outlet headwall will be demolished and replaced with a new impact basin discharging to a riprap channel.

Construction of the new emergency spillway will require a substantial excavation of the embankment and existing roadway. The entire length of the embankment will be receive new asphalt pavement consisting full depth replacement over the excavation area and overlays elsewhere.

The project requires removal and replacement of an existing wooden walkway located on the upstream side of the dam near the east abutment. The Contractor will be responsible for restoring the walkway to its current condition utilizing either salvaged existing or new materials. Any deviation from the current configuration will require prior approval by the Design Team and General Butler State Park personnel.

All slopes shall be regraded and disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched. Open areas of the new structures will receive fencing as shown on the Construction Drawings.

TBig Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) is one of the many colleges making up the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). A new 277/480 volt three phase power supply will be provided to the building. All lighting will be LED with occupancy controls.

The Jefferson Community & Technical College-Carrollton Campus-Storage Building
project consists of a conventional Pre-Engineered Metal Building. The building is a
1200sf one story PEMB Storage Building. The construction is that of concrete spread
footings with a turn-down slab, metal panel wall and roof over a PEMB frame system.
All metal wall panels, metal roof panels, one hollow metal door and frame are all to be
supplied by the PEMB manufacturer. Insulation will be an MBI Safety Liner system.
This is new building on a newly completed campus. Site development for the project
will include some minor site clearing and erosion control, grading for the proposed
building pad, heavy duty concrete pavement and seed and sod work. Mechanical and
electrical scopes of work related to the construction of a 1,200-square foot Pre-
Fabricated Metal Storage Building located on the JCTC Carrollton Campus include
electric unit heaters are provided for mechanical winter heating. Unit heaters are
controlled by stand-alone thermostats. Electrical services including electrical service
originating from the existing building, lighting and power outlets. Electrical also
includes connections to all mechanical equipment. There will be no plumbing or fire
sprinkler protection supply to this building. Fire protection will be provided via Fire
Extinguishers.

The Glen Beverly Reclamation Project consists of two sites totaling approximately 1.2 acres of
disturbance, and includes the reclamation of a landslide threatening the Beverly residential driveway and
detached garage, the installation of bat-friendly wildlife-accessible closures at two abandoned
underground mine portals, the permanent closure of three internally collapsed underground mine portals,
and the installation of drainage structures in order to control any mine-related drainage that may lubricate
the unstable slope near the Beverly residence.
At the Beverly Site, the landslide will be stabilized by means of construction of a Type-II
modular block wall along the portion of upslope edge of the residential driveway that lies below the
detached garage. Heavy stone backfill will be placed behind the wall in order to provide ballast for the
further stabilization of the slope. A combination of swale ditches lined with concrete block tied-mat,
ditch cut into rock, rectangular concrete ditch and culverts will carry drainage from the two mine portals
above the Beverly residence to the stream draining the hollow. A drop-box into the drainage culvert will
be placed in the roadside ditch, and will prevent the project from disrupting the current drainage pattern at
that elevation. The two completely collapsed abandoned mine portals will be reopened, and permanently
sealed with non-wildlife accessible portal closures. All excess earth resulting from excavation for
drainage controls and construction of the retaining wall will be placed in a waste earth fill area, located
just southeast of the site, on the opposite side of Cave Fork. Extra culvert and headwalls are included for use in the event that existing structures are damaged by construction-related traffic.
At the Rental Site, two abandoned mine portals will be closed with bat-friendly wildlife
accessible portal closures. One internally collapsed mine portal will be closed with a non-wildlife
accessible portal closure.
Some disturbance of trees measuring over 3” diameter at breast-height (dbh) is likely to occur at
the Rental Site during efforts to construct access to the three mine portals to be addressed at that location.
The only disturbance of wildlife-accessible mine entries will be the transient disturbance associated with
installation of bat-friendly portal closures. Except for those portions of the project located within
residential yards, all areas disturbed by the project will be revegetated using the AML standard General
Reclamation Mixture seed mix. Residential lawn areas will be revegetated using a mixture consisting of
three parts turf type fescue (other than KY 31) and one part perennial ryegrass, as per the standard AML
Technical Specifications for Residential Seeding.

This project is for the construction of a 60’-3″ long x 60-0″ wide x 10’ high, reinforced concrete walls & footer to be used for the bulk storage of roadway deicing salt. Shallow, reinforced concrete spread footings will be used. The Contractor shall perform all excavation necessary for the footing. No bid item is provided for the excavation and shall be considered incidental to other items.
Walls will be ten (10) feet high x twelve (12) inches thick and will be constructed on the footing and will support a pre-engineered, membrane covered (roof) structure (PMCS). The roof structure is to be furnished and installed separately by Bulk Storage, Inc., per their current Master Agreement upon completion of the footing and walls under this contract. The (PMCS) is not a part of this Scope of Work.
