PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Housing Authority of Pikeville is seeking Qualifications for an architectural firm to
serve as Architect/Engineer of Record for Fairview Court located in the City of Pikeville, KY as needed for projects on an “as is” basis. Fairview Court is an existing public housing community of 88 units. Services will be for the redevelopment or rehabilitation
of real property. If work performance is acceptable, contract can be extended for an additional four years.
New construction site enclosure fencing and gates. Site enclosure fencing to remain in place upon completion of this work and become property of the Owner. Site fencing to be maintained by the General Contractor of this work until July 1, 2018. At which time the General Contractor for Phase 2 JCTC AMIT New Construction will assume maintenance of construction fencing. Coordinate closing of sidewalks with city officials.
Implementation of traffic control devices including Jersey barriers, signage, and First Street temporary lane re-striping. Leasing of Jersey barriers to be by the General Contractor of this work until July 1, 2018. At which time the General Contractor for Phase 2 JCTC AMIT New Construction work will assume leasing and responsibility of Jersey barriers. Coordinate implementation with city officials.
Demolition of existing 746 South First Street, JCTC office/storage building complete with the exception of the concrete first floor slab, partial basement, foundations and footings. The concrete first floor slab, partial basement, foundations, and footings to be removed under separate contract during Phase 2 JCTC AMIT New Construction.
Demolition of existing 736 South First Street residential structure complete including any and all on grade and below grade floor slabs/pavers, basements, foundations, and footings. Fireplace grates and mantels to be SALVAGED and delivered to the owner’s storage facility approximately two miles from the project site. Final storage location to be determined by Owner. Engineered fill to be placed in below grade voids as a result of demolition work to basements, foundations, and footings. DGA to be placed over compacted fill. Care to be taken in not disturbing the remaining residential structure and property directly adjacent to the project site.
Demolition of existing billboard directly adjacent to the 746 South First Street structure complete to the concrete foundations. The billboard’s concrete foundations to be removed under separate contract during Phase 2 JCTC AMIT New Construction. Site features not identified to be removed to remain in place including but not limited to asphalt parking lots and drives, concrete parking lots and drives, public sidewalks and curbs, overhead utilities and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.
Capping of utilities at the project property lines including natural gas, sanitary sewer, domestic water, and cable television. Portion of electrical supply to the site to remain in place for future on site construction activities in Phase 2 JCTC AMIT New Construction.
Digging of test trenches to determine general below grade conditions of the site. Test trench locations and depths indicated on drawings. This work will require observation of both the Special Inspector (S&ME) and the Geotechnical Engineer (GEM Engineering) to determine conditions of existing strata. Digging of test trenches will require the onsite coordination of the Special Inspector and Geotechnical Engineer. Once examination of test trenches by the Special Inspector and Geotechnical Engineer are complete the General contractor to back fill all test trench locations. Engineered fill will NOT be required in these locations. Once backfilling is complete cap all test trench locations with DGA.
An Environmental Assessment and Property Management Plan by Linebach Funkhouser have been included in the specifications. Based on the depth of excavation and demolition it is not anticipated that any contaminated soils will be encountered but provisions are attached in the event contaminated soils are exposed during demolition of structures and/or excavation of test trenches.

The Project consists of the
construction of an approximately 1,280 SF, Two Story addition including new elevator and accessible male + female toilets on each level. The existing second floor and stairways will also be

will be modified and some additional pavement is to be provided. The project shall include but not

Extended Project Description: The project addresses the main pool and wading pool at the lodge. The description/summary of the repairs follows:
1) REPLACEMENT OF GATE HINGES/CLOSURES AND REPAIR RAILING POSTS: Replace the gate hinges, closures and latches on four (4) entry gates at the pool facility and repair the posts of a railing along access steps to the pool facility.
2) MAIN POOL MODULATING VALVE REPLACEMENT; The contractor shall remove the existing modulation valve which regulates the discharge of main pool water into the surge tank.
3) REPAIR AND EPOXY COAT POOL SHELL: The surface shall be prepared for the new epoxy coating system by removing all paint and loose material by sandblasting and/or other approved mechanical means. All cracks and joints in the shell will be repaired and patch material applied to provide a solid smooth surface for the epoxy coating. Slight cracks that are too large to be filled by the epoxy coating system shall be repaired with patching compound. Smooth walls and taper as required for the in-pool lights. Replace sealant between the stainless steel gutter and the pool wall.
4) DECK EXPANSION JOINT REPAIR: Approximately 1200 linear feet of expansion joints and approximately 400 linear feet of saw cut expansion control joints on the pool deck and the pool stainless steel gutter shall be cleaned and new joint sealant installed.
5) VENTILATION FAN. Replace the mechanical room in-line fan and ductwork.
6) SKIMMER WEIRS. Replace the weir on both the wading pool skimmers.
7) REPLACE BOTH POOL FILL VALVES. Replace the wading pool potable water fill valve and replace the main pool potable water fill valve, valve box and fill pipe.
Work of the Project includes replacement of a packaged air-cooled chiller serving areas of the Vocational Day Treatment Building at the Kentucky Children’s Home located at 8711 Lagrange Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40242.

The Division of Abandoned Mine Lands wishes to receive bids to perform reclamation work on approximately 15.5 acres of mine land in Harlan and Knox Counties, Kentucky. The work will consist of earthwork, gradework, and revegetation of 3 bond forfeiture permits.
Louisville Water Company is requesting Bids for the installation of 6,910 +/- linear feet of 6-inch DR-18 C900 PVC water main (using traditional trench installation techniques). Also included with the project is the installation of 8 fire hydrants and the transfer, renewal, relocation or discontinue of 159 +/- customer services.
This work includes the repair of multiple building elements to stop moisture infiltration into the building. The existing roof membrane above the second floor in the south wing is to be removed and replaced in it’s entirety with a new SBS modified bituminous membrane/insulation with new metal flashing and coping on parapets. The existing scuppers in the south wing are to be replaced in their entirety including the scupper sleeve, roof membrane, metal conductor head and downspouts. The scuppers located on the roof above the 3rd Floor shall be replaced in their entirety and that includes the scupper sumps, scupper sleeve, metal conductor head and downspouts. The existing windows in the south wing will be repaired as indicated on the drawings, this work also includes the repair of the interior wall surfaces that have been damaged by moisture infiltration.
