The Scope of Work intent of the project is to add additional car and bus parking spaces, create a detention pond, modify site lighting, and add existing exterior outlets for engine warmers.
This work includes excavation, demolition, asphalt paving + concrete work, grading, storm drainage, and site electrical, along with other miscellaneous related work to complete the aforementioned project in accordance with the Construction Documents. The parking lots will NOT be
occupied during construction work. The contractor shall have full use of the existing parking lots during
the construction time. All existing parking surfaces and other existing appurtenances shall be protected and not damaged during construction of the parking lot improvements.
Base Bid: All civil work in area 1. The bus parking lot portion of the project includes fencing, heavy duty
asphalt paving, guardrail, sidewalk, handrail, and site electrical rough-ins for engine warmers. The bus parking area is approximately 117,000 SF. The bus parking lot is dependent upon tree removal, earthwork and fencing in the car parking lot grading area 1 (93,000 SF) which is included in the base bid.

segment to extend the project from Chambers Boulevard to Padget Way.
The scope of the projects is to eliminate existing old main electrical service disconnects and reconfigure the incoming utility service to an alternate disconnect. The projects also provide for the demolition of existing equipment no longer in service, existing code violations, rerouting of existing domestic water lines located over existing electrical gear and refeed certain existing equipment from an existing electrical service distribution panel.

The proposed project (approximately 2.5 acres total) consists of stabilization of a hillside and installation of drainage control in Pike County. The project area is located on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) 7.5’ Belfry quadrangle (see the attached project and site maps). The site is located at 464 Callahan Branch, Kimper KY 41539, near the community of Kimper, KY. The project area is centrally located at N 37° 32’ 11.86”, W 82° 21’ 14.94”. To reach the site from the intersection of US 23 and KY 80 at Watergap Road near Prestonsburg, take US 23 South for 19.3 miles until you reach US 119 on the left. Turn left onto US 119 and travel 8.2 miles to the KY 194 exit on the right. Take the ramp to the bottom of the hill and turn left onto KY 194 toward Kimper. Travel 5.7 miles to Meathouse Branch on the left. Take Meathouse Branch 0.8 miles to Callahan Branch on the left. Travel down Callahan Branch to the first paved driveway on the right.
Reclamation work consists of construction of a reinforced concrete wall stabilize a slide behind the resident’s garage. Subdrain and ditch work will be installed to direct the water away from the slide and eventually outlet into Callahan Branch. All waste from the project site will be disposed of either onsite or at the waste area off US 119.
During the process of these construction activities, no trees over 5 inches in diameter at breast height will have to be removed in the AML problem area. A sediment and erosion control program, consisting of such measures as constructing hay bales/silt fence to be maintained throughout the life of the project and prompt re-vegetation using agricultural limestone, fertilizer, seed, and mulch will be implemented on all areas disturbed by this project.
Entry to the work areas will be accessed by the county road, residential driveways, and residentially maintained yards. The entire project work area slated for any excavation has been previously disturbed by any or all of the following: coal mining operations, including mine drainage, timber operations, gas/oil well development, residential development, road construction, and/or high velocity water flows associated with heavy rain events and flooding. These disturbances consist of significant upheaval, mixing, and removal of earthen material from deep excavation, grading, sub-surface drilling, fill material placement, and erosion. There should be no undisturbed earthen material to a depth of several feet at the areas slated for significant project-related construction activities.
This project will include pre- and/or post- project maintenance and repair of existing previously constructed public county roads utilized during the construction of this project, which are administered by the county or local road authority. This construction activity will be conducted under the authority and supervision of the local public road authority and will consist of standard road construction practices appropriate to mitigate impacts to the local community from potential degraded road conditions in order to maintain public traffic safety.
