This is for two Head Start buildings in Springfield and Lebanon. Contractors will be able to bid on one or both buildings (the sites are 15 minutes apart).
Project consists of the upfit of two (2) existing Mezzanine Level shell spaces, off the North Wing Lobby, to meeting rooms. The work includes, but not limited to metal stud framing, gypsum wall board, suspended acoustical ceilings, finishes and wall protection. Additionally, new male and female toilet rooms will be constructed within the existing Mezzanine Level shell space. Each toilet room with have one (1) accessible toilet compartment, as well as one (1) additional fixture, lavatory counters, ceramic tile, hose bibbs, and floor drains.
The demolition package consists of demolition of the Kirwan Blanding Complex, 11 buildings,
associated site work and utilities. New work includes earthwork, grading, and new lawns.

The work includes the utility improvements and minimal interior renovation of an existing office building totaling 198,352 square feet. The building’s square footage is spread over four floors, plus a basement and mechanical mezzanines The scope of work for this construction project includes but is not limited to: selective building demolition, upgrades to site and building utilities, site improvements, isolated
improvements to existing mechanical systems, existing electrical systems, fire protection, fire alarm systems, interior finishes (walls, ceilings, floors, base), and door hardware. The work effort will be executed in one principal phase beginning on or around February 20, 2020 and ending on November 21, 2020 (for Final Completion). The building will not be occupied during construction work. This Work includes the renovation to the interiors including the sprinkler system at Guest Unit Buildings A and B at the Barren River Lake State Resort Park. Renovations include removing all furnishings from guest rooms in Buildings A and B and storing them in temporary storage pods/containers on site. The existing gypsum board ceilings and fiberglass batt insulation will be removed from the third floor guests rooms only in both buildings (A and B). Contractor shall take particular care to protect existing floor and wall finishes as well as existing sprinkler system. Contractor will install new closed cell foamed in place insulation at underside of roof deck to make the attic part of the conditioned space. See specs for complete details.
The project includes structural repairs to nine separate cottages located in the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park near Jamestown, KY. Structural Repairs include new concrete foundation walls (2 per cottage), installation of metal straps on exterior wall framing, replacement of wood ledger and/or rim board, removal / replacement of some exterior wall sheathing as well as some additional wall studs. Structural work also includes the installation of new steel rod x-bracing and wood struts.
Architectural work includes siding replacement in the areas of structural repairs where siding removal is required. Exterior Decking replacement (pressure treated 2 x 4 decking) is also required in the areas of structural repairs adjacent to the buildings (i.e. deck ledger replacement and band board replacement). The architectural work also includes repairs to the existing walkways and handrails.
