The scope of work includes removal and replacement and/or demolition of 30 combination air valves on various
wastewater force mains (ranging from 30-inch to 4-inch) throughout the Town of Clarksville; also 2253 LF of
new 12–inch C900 DR 25 PVC force main with connection assemblies, including gate valves, at two (2)
locations and abandoning and safeloading an existing force main; traffic control; erosion prevention sediment
control BMPs; pavement and surface restoration.
The project consists of replacement of all roofing on Building C at the Leestown Campus of Bluegrass Community and Technical College. The existing roofing includes asphalt shingles (approximately 13,000 sf) and modified bitumen (approximately 15,000 sf).
The existing shingles and felt underlayment are to be removed down to the existing deck. Existing eyebrow type dormers located on some of the shingle sections will be removed and replaced. New dimensional shingles and felt underlayment will be installed. New tapered low-profile roof vents will be installed where needed.
The existing modified bitumen areas will be removed down to the existing deck including the original built-up roofing that remains below the modified bitumen. All layers of existing roofing will be removed and replaced with a two-ply modified bitumen roof on wood-fiber cover board over the existing poured gypsum deck.
This invitation is for the construction upgrade of the Madison Parking overflow lot as
specified in the following bid at Eastern Kentucky University, located on EKU’s
Richmond Campus. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and
services necessary to the complete the work outlined.

necessary for the Drilled Shaft Wall Slide Repair Project at the Gene Snyder Airport.

The Shonia Bentley Slide is located at 221 Official Hollow in the community of David, KY. The coordinates for the project site are 37°35’50.41″N, 82°53’12.864″W.
The project will consist of constructing an access through the yard of neighbor Larry Tussy located at 193 Official Hollow, removing slide material which has impacted that residence from the Bentley property above, installing 64 linear feet of Type II Non-Reinforced Concrete Block Wall with safety fence on a concrete footer. The wall will have wing walls up to 10 feet long on each end as directed by the Engineer. A sub drain will be installed behind the wall and routed to an existing drop box that inlets into an existing culvert. A new drop box inlet will be poured in place to accommodate the added drain and a new grate installed for safety. The wall will be backfilled with No. 2 sized crushed limestone to the top and Class II sized backfill will be placed on the slope above to support the Bentley yard and home above and stabilize the slope. There are three large trees and several small saplings that lie on the unstable slide area and will be removed for the safety of the residents as well as access and progression of work. The construction entrance will be removed upon completion and all impacted areas will be revegetated under residential seeding standards. The inlet of the culvert in which the wall drainage is to be routed is occluded with debris and will be cleaned out to allow open flow as will a portion of the ditch feeding it which is currently lined with Concrete Block Tied Mat. This work will fall under Site Preparation and will be directed to be done as soon as the contractor mobilizes.
The slide debris will be hauled by truck to a waste area located approximately 2.9 miles away. The coordinates for the waste area are 37°35’19.493″N, 82°52’1.319″W. Work will be done in accordance with the plans, waste area permit, and direction from the ENGINEER. All material will be graded and seeded as per residential seeding seed mix.

The Johnny Stewart Slide AML Reclamation Project includes approximately 4.4 acres of
total disturbance, and will consist of the reclamation of a double-headed landslide, and the
collection and control of underground mine drainage that is affecting at least three residences on
Upper Branch Road, near Elkhorn City, Kentucky. One portion of the landslide, which is
threatening to block Upper Branch Road and is undercutting a barn on the slope above, will be
reclaimed by means of the construction of approximately 114 linear feet of 15 foot tall gabion
basket retaining wall. The other portion of the landslide, which is threatening to block the
residential access drive to the Johnny Stewart residence will be reclaimed by construction of
approximately 92 linear feet of 12 foot tall modular block retaining wall. Subdrain will be
installed on the inslope side of the bench where the barn, which is being undercut by the first
portion of the slide that is described above, is located. The downslope portion of a drainage
system constructed under an OSM AML Emergency reclamation project, which is carrying water
collected from a number of abandoned underground mine entries and adits located well above
the landslide, will be reconstructed. It is the water that is escaping from this drainage system that
is providing the lubrication for the landslide activity being addressed at the lower level. Other
reclamation action includes the construction of a combination ditch/subdrain along the upslope
edge of the Johnny Stewart residential yard, and the improvement of an existing ditch that carries
water off of the house seat. On the slope directly overlooking the Stewart residence and a
downstream portion of Upper Branch Road, seven collapsed and draining abandoned mine
portals will be reopened, drainage structures will be installed to relieve any potential buildup of
water pressure within the mine workings, and the mine openings will then be resealed. As there
is no instability resulting from the drainage from these openings, water from these portals will be
allowed to maintain its current courses down the hillside.
Earthen material excavated during the construction of this project will be placed in a fill
area located almost directly on the opposite side of the valley floor from the project site. If this
area becomes filled, there are three areas within the project site (located on mine benches above
the landslide area) where additional material will be stored. Subdrain is included to prevent
drainage from crating a lubrication plane beneath fill placed in these supplemental areas.
Revegetation of residential lawn areas, including the primary excess earth fill area, will
be accomplished by means of the Standard AML Residential Seed Mixture. All other areas will
be revegetated utilizing the Standard AML Reclamation Seed Mixture. Trees will have to be
removed from the primary excess earth fill area, as well as from the landslide area. Other than
the reopening and permanent closure of the seven abandoned underground mine openings (as
described above), there will be no disturbance of any cave-like habitats. The only direct
disturbance of any streams will be the installation, maintenance, and removal of a rock sediment
check in Upper Branch immediately downstream of the landslide reclamation site.
The scope of the project is to restore the masonry construction wall at the North side of the garden area at the John James Audubon Museum grounds. Restoration of the brick wall will include the dismantling of the remainder of the North garden wall and its complete reconstruction with brick masonry gathered on site and from the deconstruction and with replacement period appropriate brick, the removal and reset of concrete caps, replacement of some sections of concrete caps, and general concrete foundation cleaning and restoration. Reconstruction will adhere to existing brick coursing, pattern, layout, size, pier to pier distance, and mortar joint striking. The separate section of the North garden wall connected to the museum patio will be repointed if determined feasible but should initially be considered part of the reconstruction.

The project involves re-roof work at the DOC Roederer Correction Center in La Grange, KY. The existing approximately 16,322 square foot roof to be removed is a shingle roof on plywood deck on two different buildings on the same campus. The new roof system is a standing seam metal roof. The exsiting gutters and downspounts will get replaced along with splash blocks on the ground. In addition to the roof one building will receive new vinyl siding and aluminum trim.

The project consists of the mill and overlay of Runway 4-22, Taxiway A and
multiple taxiway connectors as well as installation of an EMAS bed for Runway 22,
associated pavement marking, drainage work and adjustments to the MALSR light
stations. Runway and taxiway lighting and signage improvements are also included.
The project consists of roof replacement of Low Sloped Roofs and masonry repairs.
1. Low Slope: Remove existing roof membrane system down to existing roof deck. Install 2-Ply SBS Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing system over ridged layer insulation, tapered insulation where indicated and cover board insulation. Provide crickets where indicated.
2. Masonry Repairs: Clean, re-point, brick replacement and sealing of masonry parapet walls down to roof level and above roof surfaces.
Work of the Project includes construction of a new, stand-alone building located in close proximity to the existing Wellman Armory. The new building is approximately 5,800 GSF. The building includes brick veneer of multiple types and metal wall panels on load-bearing concrete masonry cavity wall construction. The floor system is reinforced cast-in-place concrete slab on grade/DGA fill. Foundation systems are reinforced cast-in-place rock-bearing spread footings and stem walls. Roof structure is corrugated metal deck on steel bar joists. Waterproof roofing system is cold adhesive applied, 2-ply modified bitumen with 2 layers of 2.5” polyisocyanurate insulation.
Interior construction includes gypsum wallboard on metal studs, wood doors, hollow metal frames, aluminum railings, suspended acoustical panel ceilings, paint & resinous floor coatings. Interior work also includes suspended ceiling and wall mounted acoustic diffuser panels and wall mounted acoustic absorption panels.
Neither fire suppression nor fire alarm systems are required. Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical and Communication systems are included in the scope of the work.
The Chemistry/Physics project consists of a renovation of research laboratories on the
3rd floor and changing the entire face of the building with a new skin and building
additions. This facility is one of the latest improvements in research laboratory design
standards, with spaces including new research laboratories, computational laboratory,
shared equipment spaces, collaboration spaces, dining area, meeting spaces, and
student work areas. The Bid Package #2 portion of this project focuses on the
renovation of the entire 3rd floor to create an entirely research based floor,
replacement of the entire building’s skin, a new roof, new roof-top equipment, and five
building additions (Main Atrium, North Entry, Stair Tower, Service Elevator, and
Loading Dock). A list of trade contracts for this work is listed below.
The project is to be a new facility for multiple occupants at the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center. The building size is approximately 5,000 square feet with 3,900 sf on the First Floor and 1,100 sf on the Second Floor. Foundations will be cast-in-place concrete. Exterior/load bearing walls will be reinforced insulated concrete forms. Exterior wall finish will be a combination of smooth and split-face 4” concrete masonry units. Floors on grade will be colored concrete, slab-on grade with a protective coating. Second floor will be concrete hollow-core slabs with a colored concrete topping with protective coating. Roof structure will be cold-formed steel engineered trusses and steel roof deck. Roof will be pre-finished metal panels over composite rigid insulation with a nailable surface. Windows and entrance doors will be storefront aluminum systems with insulating glass, secondary exterior doors and frames will be hollow metal. Interior walls will be light-gauge steel framing with sound batt insulation and gypsum board finish. Toilets/showers will have ceramic tile finish on walls. Doors and frames will be hollow metal. Ceilings will typically be suspended acoustic tile. Floors in offices will be carpet tiles. Other floors will be exposed, colored concrete with a clear protective finish. Fixtures/furnishings will include drinking fountains, typical break room cabinetry and HDPE lockers. A reinforced concrete vault will be a part of the work. Plumbing includes typical restroom fixtures, packaged shower units and instantaneous water heater. The building will use electric heat pumps and natural gas for heat. HVAC will be split system heat pumps with gas furnaces and ductless split units for specialty areas. Electrical work includes 120/208V power distribution system and LED lighting. Communications/data systems will include Category 6 UTP wiring and devices. Modifications to the canopy at the existing Access Control Point are a part of the project. Excavation/trenching and backfilling of concrete footings and utilities other than storm water drainage are included.
Sitework, including earthwork cut/fill, asphalt and concrete paving, concrete curbs and walks, storm water drainage and sod/seeding are NOT included. These items are part of a separate construction contract to be constructed concurrently. For information and reference purposes, bidders will be furnished a set of construction drawings for this work.
