Louisville Water Company is requesting proposals for the systematic dismantling and replacement of existing 48”, 60” and 78” discharge headers including valves and connecting piping with new 78” discharge headers and associated valves and connecting piping. Includes electric and controls. Includes buried PCCP yard piping. Includes interior building modifications such as supports, handrails, floors, gratings and coatings. Includes lead based paint abatement. Includes carbon fiber interior pipe wrap/lining. Includes miscellaneous plumbing, piping, small hydro-pneumatic system replacement, and accessories and appurtenances.

A pre-bid/proposal meeting to discuss the Project and to tour the work site will be held on October 13, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. EST/EDT. At the Louisville Water Company Crescent Hill Filter Plant – Training Center, Louisville, KY. (Check-in with Guard; requires ID, PPE of high-vis vest, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, and Covid mask). Attendance at this meeting is mandatory.

The Company’s Project Manager’s estimate for the Contract plus Company supplied materials for this Project is $10,000,001 –
$25,000,000. If the Company’s Project Manager’s estimate for the Contract plus Company supplied materials exceeds $250,000 a Bid Bond is required. For this Contract, a Bid Bond of $45,000.00 is required.

Proposals will only be accepted from Prime Proposers who have been pre-qualified by the Company in the pre-qualification category or categories that apply to this RFP and shall have a prequalification bid limit of at least $14,000,000. This RFP requires Prime to be prequalification in the Heavy Construction – Plant Work Category or 16”-60” Steel Water Mains. Contractors/Subcontractors performing specialty items of work such as electrical work must be prequalified in the Electrical Category, field coating/painting work must be prequalified in the Painting or Water Tank Coating Category, water main installation must be prequalified in the 24”-60” Prestressed Concrete Water Mains Category, and carbon fiber wrap lining on interior mains must be prequalified in 24”-60” Pipeline Carbon Fiber Wrap Lining Category. linear feet of 8-inch DR-18 C900 PVC, 370+/- linear feet of 6-inch Pressure Class 350 ductile iron water main, and 180+/- linear feet
