1. New resilient flooring and wall base in the cafeteria, adjacent atrium space and adjoining west corridor of Chestnut Hall. This west corridor connects the main traffic flow from the cafeteria space to the existing Multi-Cultural Center.
2. New ceiling grid and tile, new lighting and new paint finish in the corridor space.
3. The existing ceiling grid and tile to be removed in the cafeteria space in lieu of exposed (painted) structure with selective areas to have “floating”ceiling treatments to creative distinctive and more intimate spatial zones of the cafeteria area.
4. The existing fire sprinkler and HVAC ductwork in the cafeteria area will be re-worked as required to adhere to fire protection codes and to install new HVAC diffusers more appropriate to the new design. New lighting will be installed in the cafeteria space.
5. In addition to new paint finishes on walls in the project area, select areas designated for painted murals to be completed in collaboration with JCTC staff and administration.

The project consists of an interior renovation of the existing building. The renovation will include the
demolition and reconstruction of new latrines. A portion of exterior wall will be demolished and rebuilt
up with similar type construction for stability. Blast rated storefront, all doors and windows throughout
the building are to be replaced. Roller window shades will also be installed in occupied window spaces
(offices, classrooms). New hollow metal doors, frames, and new door hardware. Interior finishes
including ceiling grids, wall paint, ceramic tile, and carpet are to be replaced as well as concrete floors
to be polished and refinished. Spaces will be renovated and placed into existing spaces ie. Computer
lab, classroom, platoon leader office, and recruiter office to accommodate needs of the unit. Structural
repairs and remediations will occur throughout the building. Installation of storage lockers is included
in the project. Improvements to building mechanical systems including plumbing, heating, ventilation,
and air conditioning. Renovations to building electrical systems including power, lighting,
communications, safety, and overall security systems. Project includes the replacement of (3) existing
HVAC split systems with the addition of a new split system. Air handlers shall have new controls
installed. All plumbing fixtures in the main restrooms will be replaced and a new natural gas fired
water heater will be added to serve the new showers. The building will receive new data wiring
throughout due to the relocation of the existing I.T. room. LED light fixtures will take the place of
existing fixtures in a one-for-one replacement renovation throughout the entire building, including
exterior lighting. New light fixtures will be installed in the new restrooms and computer lab areas.
