AML Reclamation Project
Estimate:
$ 77,890.00
The Jim Osborne Portals AML Reclamation Project, located in the northeastern portion of Lawrence County, near the community of Fallsburg, is comprised of one site. The project will result in approximately 5.6 acres of disturbance, and includes the closure of five (5) relict underground mine openings. Four (4) of the mine openings are to be fitted with bat-friendly wildlife access gates, while the fifth, an apparent ventilation fan structure, will be excavated, fitted with a proper drainage structure, and resealed. Project-related disturbance at this site is likely to result in the disturbance of any trees over 5” diameter at breast-height (DBH). Revegetation will be effected through use of the standard AML Seed Mix for Pasture.
Implementation of standard AML Best Management Practices (BMPs) will prevent significant amounts of sediments related to project construction activities from entering area streams. These standard BMPs include such measures as hay-bale silt barriers and silt fence, and prompt revegetation of all disturbed areas. Cover crop is included for all sites in the event that a cessation of work (such as a seasonal or weather-related shutdown) at any or all sites will result in a lack of disturbance for more than 14 calendar days. All sediment and erosion controls, including cover crop, must be maintained throughout the duration of any such cessations. For continued description, see Special Conditions.
