The Rudy Thomas Drainage Small Purchase AMD Abatement Project is located in Hopkins County near the community of Coiltown. It is accessed from KY 109 0.1 miles south of KY 1034 via a haul road to the right. N 37° 20’ 15.36” W 87° 40’ 51.24”. Problems associated with this site include acid mine water surfacing and pooling within the project area. Remedial measures include both surface ditches and subsurface drains to control this water and to properly route away from the problem area. All disturbances will be kept to a minimum. Silt control measures will be in place to minimize any silt from leaving the project area. All disturbed areas will be revegetated using lime, fertilizer, seed, and mulch. This is an interior renovations project of approximately 4980 square feet at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pavilion H, Floor 4 Pediatrics nursing unit. Project limits are 8 patient rooms and associated staff charting and hand-washing areas. This portion of the project also includes a limited level of renovations to the existing nursing support core. Phasing will be in multiple parts, allowing for a patient occupancy of no less than two rooms per zone for the duration of the project. The scope of work shall be primarily flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, as well as upgrades to room identification, plumbing, lighting and electrical fixtures, and door hardware.

2425.0 RFP for CM Services for Research Building 2
The University of Kentucky desires the services of an experienced and highly qualified construction management firm to provide “FULL SERVICE” construction management on the proposed project. The Construction Manager (CM) selected will become a responsible, cooperative and contributing member of the Owner’s professional team for the design and construction of the project. The Construction Manager (CM) will provide assistance and advice and provide management services to the Owner and design consultants to assure the project is completed within defined budget, program and schedule.
The proposal shall include pricing for all phases as described herein.
The ultimate total scope of this project is $265 million, with a total maximum construction budget of approximately $212,000,000 to include costs for Construction Management Services as well as for the award of trade contracts. The initial Phase 1 of this project is $165 million with a maximum construction budget of $131,000,000.
This phase will include the construction of the core and shell and fit-out of the research facility to the limits of the budget.
