Project Description:
This project will address drainage issues (LB# 9472) at a site in South Williamson. The site consists of drainage from deep mine works that flow across the site. The majority of the surface drainage goes into a rectangular concrete ditch; however, water still saturated the hillside in addition to leaking through the diversion berm. During the winter, the collected water flows along the driveway and walkway creating dangerous, thick sheets of ice. The water pooling behind the home poses a threat to the residence and serves as a mosquito breeding ground in the summer months. We will collect the surface water and direct it to the existing concrete ditch via a concrete ditch and 24” pipes with dropboxes. Subsurface water will collected in subdrains along the houseseat and behind a nearby shed. All these waters go to the existing concrete ditch. The waste material has been used by several other DAML projects. No trees will be disturbed. We will temporarily relocate (and replace in-kind) some structures including a ramp, part of a deck, and potentially a metal garage awning. For continued description, see Special Conditions.
