THIS PROJECT IS TO INSTALL A NEW ELEVATOR INSIDE THE EXISTING ELEVATOR SHAFT. THE SHAFT HAS BEEN SEALED SINCE THE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED. THE CONCRETE BLOCK WALL IN LOBBY 0109 WILL BE DEMOLISHED TO ALLOW ELEVATOR INSTALLATION ANDRE-LAID AND PAINTED WHEN ELEVATOR IS COMPLETE. THE DOOR IN CORRIDOR 0109 ADJACENT TO THE ELEVATOR SHAFT WILL BE REMOVED AND AN OVER HEAD ROLL-UP DOOR WILL BE INSTALLED.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project involves renovation repairs for the Dubois Community Center. The building is a historic structure and all construction work must take this into consideration. It is a requirement of this project for all work to meet the Department of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The plans and specifications explain the intention of the restoration work and outline products and procedures, which comply with the Standards for Rehabilitation. The demolition work involves but is not limited to selective demolition of deteriorated materials for replacement. The roof will be replaced; the HVAC system will be replaced; electric power system extended to new HVAC locations; exterior doors will be repaired with some replaced; interior doors, frames and hardware will be selectively replaced, exterior aluminum windows will be replaced; existing cold rolled steel windows will be repaired, reglazed; handrails and guardrails will be replaced at exterior stairs and ramp and limited other renovation work.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This contract consists of relocating approximately 1,215 L.F. of 3″, 6″ PVC and 8″ HDPE waterline and appurtenances. The engineer’s estimate is $99,500.
The project includes construction of a new, 2-story, 33,938 gross square feet, LEED Certified classroom building situated on the northwest portion of the existing Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College’s Middlesboro campus in Middlesboro, Kentucky. The building program includes areas for Nursing, Aviation Technology, Assembly Area (with catering kitchen), Internet Café, general and computer classrooms, faculty and staff offices and support spaces. The foundation/structural system is comprised of auger-cast piles with concrete grade beams and structural concrete floor slabs with precast concrete roof planks supported by reinforced concrete block masonry walls. Exterior walls are to be covered with insulation and brick veneer. Existing mechanical & electrical infrastructure components will be extended to this building from existing utility services. The HVAC system includes air cooled chillers and gas-fired boilers with fan coil and VAV air handling units. Electrical service includes 277/480V three-phase power for equipment and 277V power for lighting and 120V for receptacles. Fire alarm system, telecommunications systems and rough-ins for Owner provided AV and security systems/components are included. Finished site work includes a new drop-off drive, campus walks and plantings.
1. The Work of this Project includes renovation work to provide the following for this existing building on the campus: a. Renovate Entrance Lobby, and Corridor b. Renovate two large restrooms c. Renovate two single fixture restrooms d. Renovate existing office areas to provide new Student Center e. Renovate the existing Art Gallery f. Renovate the existing Behen Community Room (Add Alternate No. 1) g. Replace existing folding panel partition system between the Art Gallery and the Community Room. h. Complete new fire alarm system for entire building 2. Renovation of each of the above areas will include the following work: a. Miscellaneous Demolition b. New interior finishes. c. Mechanical and Electrical renovations
1. This project primarily consists of the following scope of work: -Replace (9) existing air handling units and return fans. -Provide (1) new air handling unit with split DX condensing unit. -Provide (2) new packaged rooftop units. -Replace (8) existing coil circulating pumps. -Replace (4) existing steam duct humidifiers. -Provide (4) new VAV terminal units with electric heat. -Update temperature controls to support all new systems. 2. The project also includes modification of existing piping, valves and controls, as needed to facilitate the installation, startup and commissioning of new equipment. 3. The project requires coordinating phasing for AHU replacement, with multiple system drain and fill occurrences. The project requires coordination for crane lifts and associated city permits. The project also requires coordination with ongoing roof replacement project, under separate contract with Bri-Den Roofing.
Work of the Project includes: 1. Full tear off of existing low slope roof systems and replacement at Cottages 106, 108, 109 and 110. 2. Construction of a new insulated low wall in front of the existing clerestory finished with new aluminum wall panels. 3. Work of Bid Alternate 1 includes permanent removal of existing ornamental steel vent stacks with provisions for maintaining and/or reinstallation of the existing PVC vent pipe. Refer to Section 012000 Price, Payment and Bid Alternates. 4. All other work shown on the Contract Drawings and/or included in the Project Manual.
The work includes providing and installing a mechanical sewage screening and bagging system in a concrete basin, along with a manual bypass screen, a plant water system, and miscellaneous sewer system improvements at the State Nursing Facility in Glasgow, Kentucky. Major work items will include procuring and installing the automated screen, precast basin, non-potable water system, and enclosure building, and pouring a concrete floor slab, pavement removal and replacement, piping connections, providing appropriate electrical service, start-up and commissioning services.
