This project will address drainage problems caused by drainage from the coal seam behind the property located at N37.58426º, W82.25032°. The site is adjacent to the Jessica Hackney Drainage AMLRP.
Install an 18” RCP culvert under the county road and concrete headwall into the stream bank. Bed the RCP in flowable fill and install the concrete headwall recessed into the stream bank and below the existing grade. On the upstream end, install a concrete dropbox. There is a gas line running along the county road. Place the concrete dropbox between the gas line and the county road if possible. From the concrete dropbox back to the hillside, install a perforated subdrain ending in a plastic dropbox. Geo-grid and filter fabric are included to construct a temporary access to the backyard. Across the backyard, construct a combination ECB ditch and subdrain tied together at the plastic dropbox. Excavate the wet muck along the hillside behind the subdrain. Excavate and attempt to open a reported closed and covered mine entry. Install subdrain into the entry area (regardless if open or collapsed) and backfill with class II. Tie the portal drainage into the backyard subdrain via a plastic dropbox. Construct a 2:1 gabion wall and backfill with class II. Set the gabions on a class II backfill and bi-axial geo-grid pad.
The project waste area is the former Johnny Coleman project waste area along US 119. The earthwork bid item includes equipment necessary to transport and spread the material at the waste area. Use haybales prior to onsite disturbance to establish silt control. Landscape allowance, utility relocation/repair, and structure removal/replacement allowances are included for disturbance to items pre-approved by the ENGINEER.

The site is located along Bill Moore Branch approximately 1.1 miles from the intersection with
Kentucky Highway 119 east of Whitesburg at coordinates N 37° 10’ 10.19”, W 82° 42’ 10.67”.
The project consists of constructing a total of 90 linear feet of subdrain in the vicinity of two
previously closed portals along an overgrown bench. The southern subdrain will discharge into a
concrete block-tied mat ditch to convey water down the hill to existing drainage. The northern
subdrain will discharge into a concrete block-tied mat ditch to convey water down the hill,
through a small slide area, and across the yard. A 24” DWPP pipe with concrete headwalls will
be constructed to pass water across Bill Moore Branch Road. Material from the small slide area
will be taken to the waste area located at N 37° 10’ 8.38”, W 82° 41’ 58.32”. Access to the site
will be from the north via existing mine roads / across the top of an excavated area from a
previous AML Project.
An existing concrete cistern that provides residential water will be cleaned
out/maintained/refurbished during construction activities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
HVAC and lighting renovation of Dickey Hall consists of new water cooled Variable Refrigerant Flow
systems with 3-pipe heat recovery. A 100% Dedicated Outdoor Air System with steam heat coil providing
treated outdoor air to entire building. LED lighting has been added to most spaces. Dimmers and
occupancy sensors are included in lighting design. Building wet sprinkler system added to entire building
and fire alarm system upgrades are provided. Generator provides emergency power for life safety and
freeze prevention in winter. New BMS with DDC controls system provided for entire building to connect
to Delta Room. New ceilings and rework of existing ceilings are included in project.
Allowances:
Simplex: $75,000. Remove existing Fire Alarm System and all of its associated devices. Provide and
install a new Simplex Fire Alarm System. Drawings E2.0 – E2.3 show the new fire alarm system layout.
JCI: Base Bid Allowance of $572,423 for contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and
services required to provide a complete temperature control system as specified.
This renovation project is for the Lake Cumberland State Park Resort located at 5465 State Park Road, Jamestown, Kentucky 42629. The facility consists of (6) buildings: Building A (Lure Lodge), Buildings B, C, D, and E (Guest Rooms), and Building F (Pool House and Guest Rooms). The project consists of exterior repairs and exterior painting on all (6) buildings. All previously painted exterior surfaces are to be cleaned, prepped, primed as required, and repainted per the drawings and specifications. The exterior surfaces include, but are not limited to the walls, doors, trim, siding, louvres, vents, soffits, railings, columns, and ceilings. Exterior painting will also include an elastomeric coating applied to the underside of all repaired concrete double tees. Structural Repairs to the balcony double tees are in a separate contract. This project will include the reinstallation and painting of specified sections of balcony railings that are to be removed during the structural repairs project. Exterior repairs include, but are not limited to, replacement of damaged siding (new installation to match existing), replacement of damaged doors, concrete repairs, railing repairs, trim repairs, and sealing / caulking repairs.

Lake Cumberland Lodge repair project is comprised of the following work. Remove existing steel railings and store on site. Concrete repairs to elevated precast double tee walkways and balconies. Electric contract includes, but is not limited to, the following new work: Replacement of site pathway lighting mounted in knee walls; replacement of interior recessed and surface mounted lighting; Addition of remote emergency lighting inverters to operate egress lighting in the event of loss of normal power; replacement of exterior recess and surface mounted lighting.
