A general description of the project: Addition of lateral reinforcement at the end
structures of the Gray building to resist seismic and wind loads. The project will
consist of installation of eight special reinforced masonry shear walls at the first and
the second levels. The bottom of the shear walls will be connected to new grade
beams, new steel beams or existing concrete slabs on grade. The top of the shear
walls will be connected to existing concrete slabs on deck through steel connector
plates, WTs, tubes, etc.

This work consists of furnishing and installing approximately 7,630 LF of three 3″ inch diameter water line, and furnishing and installing other items as indicated on the pland and on the bid schedule.
The project consists of removal of major portions of the existing roof system and replacement with new materials and methods, some rooftop equipment will also be temporarily lifted and reset. The project will be bid three ways. A lump sum bid is to be submitted for the entire project of 144,100 square feet. Under this scenario, there will be two phases of the work. Phase 1 will consist of 32,500 square feet of the existing poor condition area and Phase 2 will consist of 111,600 square feet of the existing fair condition area. Included in this bid will be the potential of up to a 90-day delay between the completion of Phase 1 and the Notice to Proceed for the Phase 2. The delay time between completion of Phase and Notice to Proceed on Phase 2 will be added to the allotted contract time. In addition to the lump sum bid for the entire 144,100 square feet, separate lump sum bids are requested for the individual Phase 1 and Phase 2 portions of the work.
