The project includes the renovation of the existing school with new additions for a total of 73,068 SF. The existing school has approximately 47,288 SF and the additions have 25,780 SF – all part of a one-story building. Glendover was originally built in 1956 with major building additions in 1976 and 1985. The scope of work for this current major construction project includes but is not limited to: selective and building demolition, removal and replacement of mechanical systems including installation of variable refrigerant volume systems, replacement of existing electrical systems, fire protection, fire alarm systems, interior finishes (walls, ceilings, floors and base), door hardware, site improvements and paving, replacement of kitchen equipment. The new addition areas will include Kitchen and Cafeteria, Administration Area, Media Center and four new Classrooms.

The Project site is located at the Kentucky State Police Training Academy at 380 Coffee Tree Road in Frankfort, Kentucky. The site will be the location of a new Administration Building and Multi-Purpose Building for the State Police Academy. This Project shall encompass the demolition and clearing of the site for future construction. At present, the site is occupied by an existing two story masonry veneer/stud frame building with a basement, two building pads where small structures have been removed, asphalt pavement, concrete sidewalks, turf, and a number of utility structures including storm, water, gas and sanitary service. Provide complete electrical demolition of all three buildings including incoming electrical and telecommunication services, unless otherwise noted on drawings. All overhead lines and associated poles within project limits shall be completely removed including site lighting, unless otherwise noted on drawings. The Contract Documents further direct bidders as to what structures and utilities are to remain in place, and what are to be demolished and removed. In addition to the demolition and site clearing work described herein, the Demolition Contractor shall be responsible for constructing and maintaining Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPP) measures and maintenance of the site for 60 days past the date of Substantial Completion of the Demolition Package. Site maintenance will include installation of silt fencing, a temporary walkway, and dewatering of the site as required. Note that all temporary fencing, SWPP structures and temporary walkway shall remain in place and become the property of the Owner at the completion of the Project, for use by the future General Contractor.
Roofing work: Tear off existing built up roof membrane, sheetmetal, metal counter flashings and roof components as indicated. Completely remove existing lightweight concrete fill down to concrete deck. Install new rigid insulation, tapered insulation, all metal components, and SBS-modified bituminous membrane system as indicated on the drawings.
Masonry work: Partial masonry restoration and 2-coats of water repellents.

Briefly and without force and effect upon the contract documents, the work of the Contract can be summarized as follows: The existing building has three roof levels; a one-story portion, four (4) two-story wings and a central three-story mechanical penthouse. The base bid scope of the project includes: removal of existing ballasted EPDM roofing and reroofing of Building # 3 on the Roederer campus. Additionally it includes the repair of an existing EIFS wall system, and painting of EIFS. Miscellaneous wood blocking related to roofing activities is also included.
City of Frankfort is now accepting bids for replacement of sidewalks and handicap ramps and accessories, at multiple Frankfort school sites (approximately 1,307 L.F.). The Project consists of demolition of existing ramps, curbs and sidewalks, and includes installation of ramps and sidewalks including installation of tactile warning strips, and all restoration necessary.
