This project is for the upgrading and modernization of three elevator traction system currently in service in Anderson Hall located at 512 Administration Drive on the University of Kentucky Campus. The three elevators share a common hoistway, machine room, and pit. The elevators are situated side by side. Each elevator has a capacity of 3500 pounds and all three are 8 floors in line.

This project includes the construction of a new free-standing building to be used for
washing large trucks with hand held sprayers. Pre-engineered Wash Equipment will be
direct purchased by the Owner, and assembled by the Contractor. This project will
construct a un-heated pre-engineered metal building around the wash area.
Construction shall include site grading, concrete footings and slab, masonry foundation
walls, pre-engineered metal building, metal roofing, metal siding and gutters, roll up
service doors and steel man doors. Domestic cold water will tap the existing 4″ main at
Burma Road and enter the building through a reduced pressure type backflow
preventer. Cold water will be supplied to the owner furnished, contractor installed
wash equipment. Minimal heat will be provided in the building with wet location, electric
unit heaters to provide freeze protection for the plumbing systems and not for human
comfort. The electrical service will originate from the existing overhead 3-phase line
adjacent to Burma Road near the new building site. The primary conductors will extend
overhead to a pole mounted transformer bank and through a weatherhead to the main
distribution panel (MDP). The MDP will serve the Hydrosite power electrical
panelboard and also serve an electrical power panel for that will subsequently feed
general receptacles have been located in the interior of the building, exterior
receptacles, lighting, and mechanical equipment. Lighting will be provided by wet
location rated, industrial type, T8 Fluorescent fixtures. The interior space will be
designed to a lighting level of 30 footcandles. Exit signs will be located at each exit,
with exterior egress lights. Exterior wall-packs will be provided above the garage door
for general exterior illumination and around the exterior perimeter of the building.
Plumbing and Electrical shall include connection to and extension of site lines and
pipes.
