The Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet, in conjunction with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and Gateway Community & Technical College (GCTC) proposed a full window replacement project of the Emerge Building at the corner of Scott Blvd and 5th St. in Covington, Kentucky. Included in this replacement will be replacement of the 1st floor entry storefront and wood trim. The building was previously renovated in 2015, but did not include a window replacement. Replacement consists of 59 wood single pane single hung windows replaced with 59 aluminum clad double hung energy efficient window systems. The exterior trim will be replaced, and the interior trim will remain, patched & repaired on an as needed basis. The 1st floor wood entry doors will be replaced along with the wood storefronts with aluminum clad wood energy efficient fixed windows and door system. The project is located at 168 Old Mill Ridge Hill Road in Bonnyman, KY, north of Hazard.
The project area is 2.0 acres. It consists of a slide behind a home and drainage issues. The project includes construction of a 7.5’ Type I Block Wall approximately 7 feet behind the home. A concrete block tied mat ditch and subdrain in front of the wall will carry water to a drop box and 18″ HDPE pipe that will carry water to an existing 48″ pipe in front of the house.
The waste area is located on KY-1146 north of Bulan.
Bituminous repair, including roadway stone, has been factored into the contract. Revegetation of the site, including agricultural limestone, fertilizer, mulch and seed will be done according to standard AML design specifications.
