UK-3161.0-1-26 Construct Academic Building (Makerspace Building)
This project will build an approximately 30,000 GSF Makerspace building for the College of
Engineering that will be located in the heart of campus. This building will serve as a
dedicated, collaborative workspace where students can design, build and test their own
engineering projects and inventions as they engage with a variety of tools and technology.
The Makerspace building will support student success efforts by fostering disciplinary and
multidisciplinary collaboration, enhancing teaching objectives and student outcomes, and
providing a space for additive innovation. This project is the first phase of a multi-phase plan
to further the College of Engineering’s robust and innovative education mission. This project
will be LEED certified.
