The Capitol Annex Freight Elevator project consists of a renovation of the freight elevator in the Capitol Annex Building in Frankfort, KY. The controller and driver shall both be replaced to drive the new motor. All controls and control wiring shall be replaced. The car top inspection station shall be replaced, and new car top guardrails shall be installed. Safeties, guides, governor, ropes, and traveling cable shall be replaced. Project includes maintenance and lubrication of any existing to remain moving parts.
As part of the project, the existing partitions within the elevator cab are to be removed, and the interior of the elevator cab will be recoated. Plumbing work includes installation of a new sump pump and discharge piping. Mechanical work includes a new split system air conditioning unit and related refrigerant piping and condensation piping. As part of an alternate, existing mechanical equipment in the penthouse shall be removed, and through-wall penetrations patched with new masonry.
