Description
The City of Wilmore Streetscape Improvement and Pedestrian Mall Project includes approximately 1085 linear feet of full-death grade, drain and surfacing roadway reconstruction of East College Street and North Walnut Street including a 212 linear feel 7’ x 3’ RCBC. The current one-way portion of Gillispie Street between North Walnut and Lexington Avenue is to be closed to vehicular traffic and reconstructed into a Pedestrian Mall (approximately 340 linear feet). The two-way portion of Gillispie Street within the project area will be resurfaced (approximately 1245 linear feet). Lexington Avenue will be resurfaced (approximately 1245 linear feet). Full-depth construction turnouts on Lexington Avenue will be constructed at the Asbury Theological Seminary Library and Gillispie Pedestrian Mall entrance. Grade, drain and surfacing for new parking lots will be constructed on both sides of Walnut Street at the Gillispie and Walnut intersection and at the Walnut and College intersection. Grade, drain, and surfacing for an 8’ wide multi-use pathway will be constructed between East College Street and Morrison Street (approximately 365 linear feet). Stream reconstruction (approximately 280 linear feet) in included in the project with grade, drain and surfacing for an 8’ multi-use pathway along the stream (approximately 305 linear feet). New sidewalks, lighting, signage, striping, and landscaping will be constructed and installed within the project area. New city water, sewer, and conduit for utilities will be constructed within the project area.
