The project consists of selective roof overlay and full roof replacement areas. All areas will receive a cold-applied 2-ply modified bitumen membrane over 1/2″ cover board. Replacement areas shall be removed to the existing roof deck and reconstructed with various substrate assemblies, including combinations of rigid insulation, tapered insulation, and cover board. Tapered insulation shall be provided as required for positive drainage, including crickets and saddles.
Existing aluminum coping caps shall remain in designated areas, while new pre-finished metal coping caps shall be installed in others. New stainless steel expansion joint flashings shall be installed at existing locations.

The Woodsbend Youth Development Center (YDC) is a school and boarding facility owned and operated by the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, Department for Juvenile Justice, located at 163 Woodsbend Boys Camp Rd, West Liberty, KY 41472. Originally constructed in the 1960s and since had various additions and renovations, the main building covering approximately 15,500 sqft serves as a housing unit, dining facility, and administrative offices. The current mechanical system in this building is a water-source heat pump loop with a cooling tower and electric boiler. This system was installed in the 1980s and is no longer functionally in-line with the needs of the facility.
This project is the complete mechanical renovation of the Woodsbend Youth Development Center main building. Primary scope of work includes demolition of the existing water source heat pump system along with piping, cooling tower, pumps and electric boiler and replacing this system with a various zones of packaged and split system direct expansion units.

Previous investigations at the site have determined that environmental media is contaminated with various VOCs, metals, and Radium. These constituents have been detected in on-site waste materials, soils, and sludges.
The waste materials, soils, and sludges will be removed for off-site disposal. All removals will be accomplished as specified. Following clean-up activities, the soil ground surfaces will be restored to match original grade and the area will be vegetated.

Cherry Hall is located on the top of the hill at WKU at 1906 College Heights Blvd. The project includes complete interior demolition, structural modification, and renovation to create modern classrooms, student collaboration spaces, a new 3-story interior atrium, and faculty offices. New fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems will be provided as part of the renovation. Building enclosure modifications and upgrades will also be completed including a new entrance at the rear of the building (Hilltop side), roofing replacement, window replacement, masonry restoration & cleaning, and foundation waterproofing replacement. The courtyard will be reconfigured to provide new outdoor spaces. New landscaping will be provided throughout the perimeter of the building. Although the project includes many new features, care will be taken to preserve, reuse, and maintain historical components of the building including the marble staircases, the marble paneling, base, & trim, and the patinated, copper dome.

Project scope entails the furnishing and startup of dedicated outdoor air units and fan coil units to serve 21 individual Patient and Administration Wings/Floors at Western State Hospital. These wings are located within Buildings 55, 56, 57, and 58. Project furnished outdoor air units and fan coil units shall be installed by others in a multi-phase approach. Inspection and factory startup of project furnished outdoor air units and fan coil units shall be provided in this project. This on-site inspection and startup of project furnished equipment shall be performed by a manufacturer’s representative and shall occur after others have installed the project furnished units and other owner furnished materials such as ductwork, piping, grilles and diffusers, etc.. Controls furnished with project furnished equipment shall be integrated into the building management system by others. Proper storage of all projects furnished equipment is required from the equipment delivery date to the installation date. All project buildings/areas are located within a secure, acute care adult psychiatric facility.
